Idea: User-Created Broadcasting Streams (Virtual Radio Stations)

It would be great to have the ability to create a broadcasting stream, allowing users to run virtual radio stations on Spotify.

These stations could be either amateur or commercial. Listeners would connect to a single live stream, similar to traditional internet radio.

The stream could combine multiple audio sources, for example:

  • Spotify playlists

  • Pre-recorded audio segments (announcements, jingles, podcasts, etc.)

  • Live audio streams from the broadcaster (e.g., microphone input)

A dedicated broadcast control interface could allow the host to manage the station — controlling playlists, scheduling content, and switching between different audio sources in real time (similar to a radio studio mixing board).

This could enable creators, communities, and brands to build interactive radio experiences directly inside Spotify.

I've been wanting to create a webradio directly on Spotify, where my podcast is currently hosted, for a long time. I'd love for Spotify to natively support this feature on both desktop and mobile. I'd love to be able to create and manage a webradio or a live broadcast, with a weekly schedule or a single show. All it takes is a small software interface that acts as a mixer (like Voicemeeter) that can handle both physical inputs (microphone) and virtual inputs, such as music from Spotify. A chat feature would then be enough to allow people to interact during the live broadcast. And as a autoDJ, all I need to do is create a simple playlist. Do you think this is a feasible idea? Thanks for your work.

Thanks so much, that would be really great. I hope the idea is taken into consideration, I will wait with bated breath.
