Smart shuffle is a fun way to discover new songs, but it comes at a cost. Want to reshuffle your queue? Bam, wait a few seconds longer. Want to unshuffle your playlist? Bam, no longer works, and goes to a completely random place in the playlist.

To me this is an unwanted complication, and I'd much rather be able to choose in the settings menu whether I want to enable the Smart Shuffle feature, or disable it.

I'd label smart shuffle Shuffle PLUS, or AI shuffle PLUS as to me its a better indication of the user experience. and also have it as a separate option in both settings and playlists main screen, say next to a returned shuffle (only) button

Please god remove smart shuffle from my shuffle button. I keep accidentally turning it on and I never want it on.

either a separate button or an account setting to globally enable/disable it, this is the first change that made me want to switch. I'm trying youtube music for a free trial to see if I can just switch and be done with smart shuffle.

Smart shuffle adding random recommendations to my playlists every time I go in there and having to click to get normal shuffle each time is annoying. I'm not sure why this was added without an option to turn it off. I don't want random songs in my playlist. Please make this something that you opt in for or make a single one off click to switch off.

100% agree that Smart Shuffle should be toggled/removeable in Settings. If you pay premium prices for the privilege of not listening to stuff you don't want to, then it is frankly insulting to have to turn this off manually every time it decides to switch itself back on again/you accidentally set it. Allow us to say no.

I hate the Smart Shuffle feature. Either make it its own button so I can simply not use it, or make a setting so I can disable it entirely.

I hate the Smart Shuffle feature. I use Spotify in my car and everytime a completely random song starts I freak out and the will of going 200km/h into a tree grows in me. Let me disable it permanently because when I’m driving I DO NOT HAVE TIME for the network lag to switch the shuffle mode.

Absolutely pathetic how paying customers are treated by Spotify. If I wanted to listen to shitty music, I would never have bothered to curate 100+ playlists myself. And instead of finally removing this "feature", Spotify swaps the order of the shuffle button so that Dumb Shuffle is activated before normal shuffle playback. Thanks for nothing.

I've never seen so many bad decisions made by a single company. I've switched to YouTube Music and I am so relieved. Not only do I not have to deal with Spotify's declining UI but I also get ad-free YouTube.

Only downside is there's no YTM desktop app like there is with Spotify, I had to write a python script to migrate my playlists, and it doesn't play as well with Discord. But all in all I'm glad to have made the switch.

Smart shuffle is terribly annoying.  Getting really frustrated with it and am considering terminating my subscription over it.  not worth the headache.
