Mark / Disable AI Generated Songs

The platform is increasingly flooded with AI-generated songs (especially the Release Radar), making it harder for users to discover authentic, human-created music. To improve the listening experience, Spotify should introduce a clear label for AI-generated songs and provide an option to filter them out entirely.

The more ai i encounter on here the more i find myself listening to music in other apps and the more i seriously consider abandoning this app. Ill be listening to music over on bandcamp when you guys decide to stop replacing your staff with AI and finally allow us to opt out of hearing gen ai garbage let me know. Also even without the ai music the weekly recommendations have gotten terrible since you started letting ai categorize genres.

Spotify themselves are creating the AI artists. They create thousands and add them to recommended playlists. Every time I click on one of these artists they have thousands of monthly listens but there is no info online about them. Only Spotify can promote these artists with such mediocre music and no visible promotion outside of Spotify. They used to do it with in house producers creating generic ambient or instrumental music. Now they are covering other styles but with Suno generated music.

100% on board with this.  It's musical spam.

In my Weekly i had 5 AI Songs or well, im 99% sure they are. ( Low Views, not verified, generic text which often doesnt make sense, even for me as a non-native English speaker)

In My Daylist ( 3h with 50 songs ) - even more.

The Issue, yes i probably have liked 1-2 songs before, as i wasnt that completly sure, but to find those songs with a big library is kinda hard.

So yeah, a "turn on / off" for AI would be great. As i agree, some People could like those songs, but and thats not even a thing for Premium Accounts .. to not give a choice if we want to hear it or not, is not really something i would agree with.

Especially even as a Spotify User, i would still kinda "help" the real Artists with my listens, and not something which i wouldnt call Artist in that Way.

in my Case the AI Songs are mostly about Church, Religion, which is ironic because i have no songs for that topic.

So yes, im still happy that not every Playlist recommendation from Spotify is with AI Songs, but why also do it in probably the most used ..

Personally not experiencing this issue, but some artists I get are definetly not what I would choose to listen to.

Having a setting for enabling/disabling non verified artists would do great, this would be artists with with a label and have history automatically being verified and new artists being unverified, this setting primarily affecting discover weekly, Spotify DJ and other such playlists, but allowing for searching and 'reccomended songs' to add to playlists and possibly smart shuffle.

Thinking about it now maybe instead of an enable/disable option, it is a drop menu to choose which level you would like to avoid such 'artists'  ranging from 'enabled','disabled within spotify playlists', 'disable all'(minus search)

As many Spotify users have already noticed, many songs that are uploaded to the platform are generated by AI. This is an important issue that I believe deserves attention, as it not only harms the people who use Spotify, but could also harm the company.

AI is a technology that is constantly evolving and needs to be controlled in many cases, and the music industry is one of them. On Spotify it's becoming difficult for users to distinguish between songs that are created by this technology, so my suggestion would be this: Spotify should create a tool that informs the listener whether the song was made by an artist from scratch, or whether it was generated with AI by a person. This is a good way to allow both types of intelligence to exist on the platform, because we know that it's difficult to completely eliminate AI from Spotify. Deezer, for example, has developed technology that has found that 10,000 songs made by AI are uploaded to the platform every day.

Creativity and human talent have to be preserved, so I think Spotify should be maintained as a service that lets people show their effort and lets listeners hear the true sound of art. I can't agree 100% with Gustav Söderström's words, but here's my opinion too. Please let the Spotify team review this idea.

Thank you.

Once again my Release Radar and Discover Weekly lists are filled with AI generated trash. At this point I'm exploring other options, because it seems clear Spotify is **bleep**-bent on embracing a technology that's foundation was built on content taken from artists, writers, and musicians without their consent, and who were never compensated for their work. At it's core, generative AI is a theft and plagiarism machine that robs talented people of the recognition and money they deserve, and no service claiming to care about artists should support it. I know voting this up is almost certainly futile since Spotify seems to care only about maximizing profits regardless of ethics or morality, but at least I can say I wasn't silent about it.

I hope this becomes an option. It's ruining Discover Weekly/Release Radar which is my only reason for using and paying for Spotify.

Agreed 1000%. We should be able to choose if we’re paying for the app. I do not want to listen to AI music, there are way too many amazing real human artists to discover and I want to find them and support them. I don’t want AI songs to take their spot and I’m finding more and more Ai songs on my Discover Weekly playlist each week doing just that. Yuck!
