Mark / Disable AI Generated Songs

The platform is increasingly flooded with AI-generated songs (especially the Release Radar), making it harder for users to discover authentic, human-created music. To improve the listening experience, Spotify should introduce a clear label for AI-generated songs and provide an option to filter them out entirely.

Thats just disappointing honestly, nobody actually likes ai music either lol, people usually just listen to it as a joke or ironically and don't actually ENJOY the music. Ai kinda defeats the point of music being art and enjoyable instead of LITERALLY being slop

Over a year now of people wanting a way to filter out the ai trash, and Spotify is not just ignoring us, but is actively encouraging and amplifying the amount of phony, counterfeit content on its platform. Pushing it into our feeds, hiding the fact it's ai slop, almost certainly benefiting from it monetarily, and all the while treating everyone but the highest tier mega-popular artists like garbage.

I've had enough. I can't stomach even opening up the app anymore, knowing just how ens#|ttified it and this company has become. After 10 years, I'm done with Spotify.

Good luck to the rest of you sticking with it. Hopefully if enough of us take our money and leave it will cause Spotify enough fiscal pain to make the service better for the rest of you.

This is needed. I'm tired of seeing my real life artists friends get bumped from lists for a generic 2024 song that's clearly not human generated.

I"ll give it one more month. If this Ai thing is not solved somehow, I am going to cancel it and move to another platfor. Is getting ridiculous now...

I've been a paying customer from the day Spotify was available in my country. This means it'll be 14 years in November. My staying on heavily depends on the statement Spotify apparently intends to post in here. They need to acknowledge the issue, identify it as problem and put it on their road map as a high priority item - ideally they're already working on safeguards to mitigate the issue. I'm not willing to pay for AI slop any longer. It is getting worse every day.

An article in Financial Times Spotify´s Vice VD confirms that they are going to rise prices across markets because it´s in their strategy and increase content with more pod´s audio books and what they called AI DJ. Seems it´s time to us real music lovers to look around for other altrnatives out there. I couldn´t read the whole article because of course it was behind a pay wall. But the message is clear if it´s just music you wants Spotify is moving in another direction sadly enough.

@jonny99, I read the whole article. Sounds to me more like a marketing piece to calm their investors. He throws around all the usual catchphrases that are supposed to keep the money guys happy. "price raises", "so much runway", "another special price tier" (without going into details of course) and of course different shades of AI. Companies, especially publicly traded ones apparently need to jump on the AI band wagon these days, but IMHO this doesn't mean that there won't be space for feature requests like this one. Keeping the loyal, paying customer is easier and cheaper than acquiring new ones that first need to be turned loyal. This should therefore be their preference. The only question is if there are enough existing customers who would cancel their subscription if this problems continues to exist.

And today I I recived an E-mail that in september spotify is raising the price for Premium individual from 119 swedish crown to 129 sw crown. So as far as I can tell it´s all about the money to satisfy their shareholders.

And thank you for the information.

as a musician and producer it takes me 40 to 80 hours and some money to birth a song into the world. These AI projects are spending minutes to make a song, just duplicating the average sound of the genre or subgenre, and taking streams and income away from tens of thousands of artists like me. Please please please please care a little bit about humans and at least create an option to filter AI out. if not, there will surely be a backlash from users and artists.

Guess you missed the rest of the thread... there already is backlash... join the party, drop Spotify, move to another platform that is actually making an effort to protect artists.

I relocated my entire set of playlists over to Deezer a little over a week ago, took about 10 minutes only lost 7 obscure tracks (mostly live performances) out of about 5000. They're identifying, flagging and demonetizing AI-based music, and personally I find their less cluttered interface a nice breath of fresh air, and it uses lower resources too so my battery lasts quite a bit longer now.

(No, I'm not affiliated in any way, just sick of Spotify's ever increasing prices only to have AI slop jammed down my throat every single playlist, including my private ones when they automatically turn back on recommendations every time I turn it off. The only thing they'll listen to is their stock prices taking a nosedive.)
