Mark / Disable AI Generated Songs

The platform is increasingly flooded with AI-generated songs (especially the Release Radar), making it harder for users to discover authentic, human-created music. To improve the listening experience, Spotify should introduce a clear label for AI-generated songs and provide an option to filter them out entirely.

Bye bye Spotify. May your shitty AI approach kill your company

Pls delete the AI slop from the platform, its horrible **bleep**.

Add an AI filter to Spotify user settings. Many people don't want to hear it or to have Spotify recommended AI songs and artists. Also, AI songs and AI artists should have very visible labels in the app. I am close to cancelling my Spotify account because of the lack of AI identification and filtering. Lastly, if any producer falsely misrepresents the human-ness of artists, their accounts should be removed from Spotify. This would require Spotify to actually validate new producer/artists BEFORE allowing them to publish.

Allow the customer to choose NOT listen to AI created music. Real music lover do not want that **bleep**. An Off Button to not get AI music at all.

How is this not already an option. I just can not comprehend.

Thanks to all who suggested Deezer. They actively tag and reject AI music/artists. I'm now on my one month trial and I'm enjoying the simpler interface and better pricing for Duo. I'm also surprised they too offer daily mixes. Leagues better than YouTube Music's interface. Oh also, I followed a link from their site and was able to transfer 100% of my playlists, liked Artists and Liked albums (tho not blocked artists or blocked songs).

Honestly, if Spotify would have just tagged AI artists like we asked and not pushed them into our playlists, I wouldn't have put all the effort into switching. See yaaaaaaaaaa Spotify.

Should have waited a week like I did before going paid, it's an old technique but a good one, signup for a free trial, wait a week, then Deezer will offer 2 months free instead of just 1. Still works like a charm.

As for why this isn't an option already, GREED, simple as that. Which is why the only way to invoke change, hit them where it hurts, their stock prices when users flee en masse.

I don’t want to consume AI‑generated music/art. It’s a slap in the face of all musicians. If Spotify doesn’t do something soon, I’ll switch to Deezer as well!

In the new TOS that goes into effect in September, Spotify still won't come out an clearly and cleanly state that AI deception is a violation.  They play it really losey-goosey. They start with:

"Deceptive Content

Creating great experiences on Spotify requires trust that people are who they say they are, that they won't be scammed, and that no one is trying to manipulate our platform. Don't use malicious practices to deceive others."

( this isn't really a flat out statement of violation with stated consequences). Then the next closest  clause to what we all want is this "what to avoid" is this one:

"Content that promotes manipulated and synthetic media as authentic in ways that pose the risk of harm includes, but may not be limited to:

  • audio or video recording that comes from a real and valid source that has been altered in a way that changes the meaning or context of the original media and is purported to be true, thus posing a risk of harm to the speaker or other individuals
  • audio or visual media artificially created through the use of technology that's purported to be true, such as digitally manufactured sexual audio and video content or content falsely suggesting that someone committed a crime"

But here, they pull the famous "includes, but not limited too..." and do not specifically state "decepting users by pretending to be a human musician---but are actually synthetic/AI."

If I understand this right it says nothing about AI generated "music or artists" pretending to be made by real artists floding

the playlists they are sending to us. It does not adress the real issue we discuss here. Well what could we expect.
