[Mobile] Create & manage Playlist Folders

It would be nice to be able to better organize playlists in folders on the mobile apps.  Or at the very least, specify which folder a playlist should go in when it is first created.  Right now, in iOS, any playlists that I create are just added to the main list, without giving the option to put them in a folder, and it is not possible to move playlists to/from folders.  I'm assuming this will be the same on Android when it is implemented.

A way to make folders that can be filled with playlists, albums and artists. this would make organization a lot easier!

I think this would be an amazing feature!

ashwins99

you can already make playlist folders but yeah only on the pc app

This is in my opinion a much needed feature! When having a lot of playlists, searching through them in the "Your Library" list isn't just difficult, it's a pure mess.

Yeah I hate having to go to my computer every time I want to add to or create a new folder for playlists and albums, need to add this in the next update.

Can we please get this idea moving again? At least being able to divide playlists between subscribed and self-created. Its annoying when you find so many good playlists, subscribe to them, that you are unable to find your own created lists when adding new songs.

This is one of those “no brainer” ideas that only becomes more confounding with Spotify’s refusal to incorporate it. It’s extremely simple. It’s a feature that already exists (on desktop). The ability to reorganize already exists (albeit only for songs in playlists). The app is already fairly robust and this feature would fit in naturally. For those who need it, it makes the organizing user experience dramatically better, for people who don’t want it, they probably wouldn’t even notice it.   It would actually INCREASE user’s engagement with music and their libraries, thereby increasing streams, thereby increasing revenues. Why Spotify continues to refuse their more dedicated users on such a basic, intuitive request (in lieu of spending time on annoying Home Screen pop ups btw) is beyond me and certainly downgrades my opinion of them as a brand. The horror to think i might eye a Tidal subscription….

To be fair, I'm over it now. Reverted back to simple playlists and folders just like 10 years ago. Unliked all albums and artists and songs. And back to using my desktop. You know what, it felt good.

Sometimes if you have a playlist that is really long, you don't ever really hear all the songs on it. But I hate having tons of shorter playlists because it can be hard to find them and just get messy. Spotify should create a "folders" option for playlists. That way, for example, I could create a folder called "R&B" and have all my different R&B playlists in that folder, same for Indie, car ride music, etc. Then whenever you first open the playlists tab it would show all of your folders. You would click on the folder that contained the playlist you wanted, and then click on the playlist. Way easier to find. It would also look a lot nicer on the personal Profile page. Pinterest has a similar option with boards.
