Hi Spotify team,

I’d love to suggest a feature idea:

What if users could open one of their playlists and tap a “song recognition” button (like Shazam) — and the recognized song gets automatically added to that specific playlist?

It would be a smooth, in-app way to capture songs playing in real life (at events, in cafés, on the radio) and instantly organize them into the right playlist — without switching apps, copy-pasting, or forgetting later.

If this idea makes it to your roadmap, maybe you could buy me a coffee… or something a little nicer 😄

Keep up the awesome work!

When listening to music not on your device ie from a speaker at a party connected to someone else's device: use your device's microphone to first of all identify the song like Shazam and then synchronize the lyrics on your screen to it so you can sing along any time.

It would be amazing to have a "what's playing" search option to identify songs that are playing around you. Basically a built-in shazam

A function that allows you to recognize the title with the microphone and then display the possible results (if several, display the compatibility percentages) and be able to save them in a playlist, listen to them, etc.

  • This would eliminate the need to use an external service and simplify user interaction.
