[Music] ASIO Output Support

Please can you add support for an ASIO audio output device?

As a owner of a separate headphone DAC + Amp, I get much better quality music when I'm using the bit-perfect ASIO output rather than DirectSound, which changes the audio bitstream before it reaches the DAC. ASIO output would be a great compliment to the Spotify high-quality streaming.

Thanks!

@daw1dI've been pondering about tidal too. How's the library compared to spotify?

@Vulpephile That is shame. I read some articles about the student debts in US and it as hard to believe. In Czech Republic the national basic schools, high school and college is free (only need to buy books etc.) and if you want to study after you are 26 years old one semester in college is for about one month salary (around 600$). Also I cant understand why TIDAL subsctription is so much more expensive like you said. Price tag on everything in EU is much higher than in US due VAT (electronics, movies, cars..) so I cant get it. But Czech Rep. is quite poor country (average salary is about 600$) so maybe they set the price for the people 😉 How much is for Spotify in US? Here is 6.5$ for one account and 9.7$ for family account (1+5).

About your audio equipment I think you have decent audio chain. I started experimenting with audio stuff about 10 years ago and now I am finally happy (for now :D). I am sure after few years you will have much better equipment than mine. On the other hand it is good to have friend with same interest. You can try other devices and talk about it and if you can make your own devices with friend that is gold! My friends has some **bleep**ty speakers and they always said to me "I dont need anything better, it plays nice". So I am audio freak for them. I discuss audio stuff only with people on the internet 😉

The JBL 305 are very good. I know there is lot of better speakers but for the price they are superb. Nice balanced sound, loud and clear, good low end, overall good entry level studio monitors. They also have unique tweeter so you have much bigger sweetspot. Headphones are great but I like sometimes to let ears breathe. But with speakers you have to manage room acoustic and that is expensive. I am saving for this now. So if you want good sound for reasonable price headphones are always better.

@Defectus I tried TIDAL only once for month and didnt have much time to explore. But for that time I didnt encounter any missing artist. I think the library is almost same like on Spotify.

Please add ASIO support

benofishal

Please add ASIO / WSAPI support, it's long overdue.

Why, why, why, is support for ASIO/WASAPI not added yet? So far have I not seen any explination from Spotify. Tell us why? We are tired of waiting 😞

Will join Premium only if Spotify got ASIO

It's pretty ridiculous that this is still an issue after all these years. Spotify is basically telling us loud and clear that they don't care about quality, especially when one considers that WASAPI support is the simplest of features to add. Programs like iTunes or Winamp have had it for a decade or more, and TIDAL also has it.

I often get the sense that Spotify caters too much for the "casual" user who couldn't care less about quality, but if they plan on adding a lossless option in the near future (something they're already testing), WASAPI will be a must, otherwise no audiophile will pay the extra $5-10.

My dad already has a TIDAL Hi-Fi subscription, so I'm seriously considering joining his plan, even though I will miss Spotify's playlists. The quality is significantly better.

I agree to this request, aIthough i dont consider myself an audiophile, but I am a Music's fan and the difference beetewen window's directsound and wasapi or asio is noticeable
