Option to add silent pause between tracks

I plea for an option to have a silent gap between tracks. Adjustable in length, so for example 3 or 15 seconds, depending on your preference. For some music genres it makes the experience so much nicer to slowly peter out and pounder for a few seconds, before being taken up in a new song. Especially classic music NEEDS silence, it's part of the genre. Also playlists with different genres packed together require a mental transition. Time to reset the ears and mind.

I would like this to be a standard option, just like the option to crossfeed 0 to 15 seconds, a standard option that you can switch on or off, or adjust in length, depending on your mood.

I know there is a workaround to add silent tracks, but that doesn't work when shuffle mode is activated. And it's quite a non-solution if you've 200 tracks in a playlist and want 5 seconds silence between each. A one-button solution is what we need, and it shouldn't be too difficult to make.

So many people these days are easily overstimulated. Including millions of Spotify users. For them it's a matter of mental comfort.

Think of a serious podcast about a humanitarian crisis and you forgot that you had a a heavy metal song sitting next in queue...

I need 'turnover' time before the new song sets in. It allows one to really enjoy the song until the end, without starting to wonder already about the next song.

I like to take this further and be able to set a time of up to 5 minutes silence between tracks as a default

It would be nice to set up personal chosen time between songs on a playlist. Some times one does make a playlist where a short time for thinking or speaking to common listeners would be nice. Sometimes silence is needed for the music to make the most of it selves.

For dance teachers is very usefull to stop the music after it ends; between tracks teachers need to give corrections to students, explain the next exercise, etc. Basically we need to talk between tracks and be able to not be running the studio to the computer to enter pause 20 times in a class. 🙂 If you could do this, it would be awsome. Thank you!

I want this so bad! It creates a more mindful listening experience when the songs aren’t just continuously being played non-stop. I absolutely hate scrambling for the pause button after listening to an impactful song in order to preserve the mood. It would take an agile development team a day to implement this feature, please consider it!

Great to see there's more demand for this option than just me. Let's hope Spotify pays attention!!!

Can it be made possible, to adjust gaps between songs/tracks.
A variable setting 0-5 seconds i.ex, could be awesome!
Some albums originally listened on LP, have extended gap between some tracks, as part of the design, overall listening experience.

Though my guess is, it would be difficult to make it such as, not to interfere with albums meant to be listened to gapless

I’d like to request a feature for intermission songs. When I create a workout playlist—especially for a class—it would be great to have the option to insert a short break or pause in the playlist without having to manually play a slower song from a different playlist. Ideally, there would be an “intermission song” or even an entire “intermission playlist” that could be triggered at certain points. A dedicated pause or break feature with customizable music would make managing the flow of a workout much easier.

I agree, sometimes you need a sec to proces the end of an emotional song. It doesnt feel right/ natural to me that it a song is immediately followed by another song, we’re humans, not machines.
