[Playlists] Solution to false/abusive reporting

Whenever someone reports a playlist - the title and cover art are removed immediately. This is often abused to hurt record labels and playlist curators. After contacting support - the account of someone who abused this system gets taken down. This person then creates another email and free Spotify account and repeats the process.

There is a simple solution to the problem - enable reporting feature only after 10 hours of music/podcasts were streamed using the account. It won't change the experience for a normal user but makes copyright abuse impractical. It's cheap and easy to implement and would stop 95% of false claims.

Thank you for your consideration.

Today is crazy again. Bots are on the hunt and Spotify is nowhere to be found. What a company!!! Getting reported every two minutes

Same over here!!

Friday and today are crazy.  More than 150 reports Friday and more than 60 today.

It's unbelievable this is happening.

I am sick of it, I almost want to copy my playlists and delete all the reported to avoid this, but it's making the game in favour of those **bleep**.

Spotify is the only one which allow this with their stupid report system.

Are you kidding? Spotify doesn't solve any problem. Change you report system.

We are guilty at first, then WE HAVE to reintroduce the description, the photo and the playlist's name, even if we DON'T have any infringement.

Stop this thing! I received hundreds of reports in few days for 5 playlists, FIVE!

I don't have to change a thing in my account,  Spotify is the only one which have to adapt their report system.

I take more time to correct than listening music.

Crazy!

My playlists are getting reported every 45 seconds to 3 minutes (yes I timed how long it took lol). At this point, I've gotten reported hundreds of times - who knows how many bc I stopped counting.

This is so frustrating and I'm not sure what to do. I'm thinking about using a bot to counter the bots reporting me (at least I assume I'm getting reported by bots, if not, then it's some loser).

My only concern is that using a bot to restore my playlists could be against Spotify TOS...? Any thoughts? I really don't want my account to get deleted over me trying to fix this problem myself. 😕

I'm done. I will copy my playlists and erase all the reported ones. Enough is enough.

Some stupid guy uses bots to constantly report 5 of my playlists with most followers. Almost 40k in all 5. Each time I rewrite the name, it's instantly reported, even in the middle of the night, at every hour. Unthinkable!!!

Well it's not worth it to fight a war you cannot win.

I will continue to use Spotify but at least with no stupid reports allowed by a dumb system.

Such a shame that this is still happening for so many people and lots of
people are losing out, not just the poor frustrated curators, but the users
who are listening to these playlists the titles of which just disappear and
of course the artists who are losing streams.

I think we need to keep on at Spotify for Artists either via email

or twitter @spotifyartists

Hi,

Finally I decided to not erase my playlists but simply doing nothing. I'm losing followers at high rate in my most followed but at least I don't receive hundreds of reports.

I don't earn money with this, I simply like to have the most accurate playlists but Spotify doesn't care. So keep forward.

I have reason to believe the person behind this is @Pixel Aesthetic. I am the owner of a JDM Playlist with 34K. Everyone in the JDM community with a playlist have been getting reports from fake accounts hundreds of times a day yet this is the only person left with over 10K. If you see their account they have many playlist in similar categories to the ones being spam reported by bots. They have a suspicious amount of playlist with a ton of followers. If we want to get anywhere we need to find the source of the problem. As we all know Spotify will not do anything because the bot accounts look good on their numbers so we have to do it ourselves.

MY JDM PLAYLIST WAS ALSO REPORTED! I’ve been working on my playlist for months and building followers and it has been reported for no reason and now I have no title or description. It’s so stupid that it won’t even allow you to put in a different new name or description even if you wanted to! What am I supposed to do when they don’t reply to email and just let an automated process deal with Spotify trolls? Is there any way I can get my playlist back?
