[Podcasts] Auto-Updating Podcast Playlists/Routines

Every morning, I have a number of daily news podcasts that I enjoy listening to in the same order every time. The way I currently go about this routine is by starting to play the latest episode from the first podcast, then adding the latest episode of the second and third (and so on...) podcasts to the que so they play in the order I choose.

This feels pretty tedious, so I attempted to create a playlist with these podcasts in the order I like to listen to them everyday. However, I seem to only be able to add specific episodes to the playlist, not the show itself. Which means I can create the perfect playlist for THIS morning, but by TOMORROW morning it will not have updated to the latest episodes and be out of date.

And so, therein lies my idea... The ability to create an auto-updating playlist of podcasts (not podcast episodes) in the order I choose.

I see it resembling something like the "Routines" one can set on the Amazon Alexa app. For example, when a particular custom phrase is spoken, a preset number of actions occur in the order they were set. Translated to Spotify: You press the play button on a podcast playlist, and a preset selection of latest episodes play in the order they were set. Similar to the "Daily Drive" playlist, but with the ability to customize exactly what I want to hear.

Based on how I like to use Spotify, this idea being implemented would significantly improve my ease of use and enjoyment of the app. Thanks for reading.

Would be really helpful for a public-facing playlist of all our college radio station's shows on Spotify too.

BeyondPod does this better than any app I have found. You can select all the pods you like, select how many are downloaded, build multiple playlist (news, entertainment, funny, and so on), and select how far back you want to go, plus tons of other features. But I would like to reduce the number of apps I use so let's get with it Spotify. You can do it.

Completely agree that this feature is a must.
I'd like to add another thought. I like the mix of music and podcasts that Spotify makes for me, but I wish I could dictate which podcasts get added to my Daily Drive playlist. I listen to a lot of them, but with that kind of morning commute idea, I only want the morning news ones added in.

Over 1 year and Still waiting.    Sticking to my actual Podcast player.  If you bother getting around to this then maybe I will subscribe.

I pay for premium and it doesn’t make sense that this isn’t an option. For the amount I’m paying I should be able to make my own personalized mix of music and updated podcasts. I would love it to be like daily drive but it’s the podcasts I choose and the genres of music that I want included. Typically daily drive only does my most played songs, which I’m not in the mood for in the morning. If the music was updated like Daylist with podcasts that would be perfection. Give me a sad moody Monday morning with murder podcasts. After my chosen podcasts the list could even add recommended podcasts to open me up to new ones I’ve never listened to.

Please this! I'd love to have a "Morning News", "Evening News", "Gaming", etc Podcast playlist. Where new episodes from a handful of podcasts will be curated. What good does having to manually add an episode to a playlist do? Especially for shorter podcasts(5-15min) this would great to have. Select the podcast playlist instead of having to continually mess with your phone

This feature would make me use Spotify for podcast! I currently use apple podcasts for the "Stations" feature when I can add shows to a playlist and it automatically bring in new shows when they appear into that playlist. Please Spotify!
