[Podcasts] Import for Podcasts (OPML)

I'm an avid podcast listener.
I currently use PocketCasts and would love to use Spotify for music and podcasts.
Spotify could (potentially easily) allow one to import csv opml etc, so everyone could easily transfer all their podcast subscriptions to a superior platform.

2023 - over 5 years since it was first requested, and still not available.  Now Stitcher is shutting down and Spotify still hasn't added this feature?

Spotify spends gazillions on podcasts but doesn't allow users to import their list of favourite podcasts to facilitate the move to their platform. Why? There must be a reason.

I'm with you guys. Especially with Stitcher shutting down (8/29/23), Spotify is missing out on a big chunk of the market. It's pretty mind-blowing that they haven't implemented this yet. Major fail and very irritating. I follow a few podcasts on Spotify only because they're not available on Stitcher (I've been using the latter for about as long as they've been around), but I will absolutely not start using Spotify as my primary podcast-listening platform unless they do this. I can't imagine why they're not listening to the feedback of their customers. This seems like such an obvious and necessary function to include.

RE: Desperately seeking a single podcast platform (SPP), who likes walks on the beach and commitment.

I am a premium subscriber to Spotify for music. Twelve years ago, before Spotify existed, I started a committed relationship with  Stitcher for my podcast fix. Stitcher is shutting down next month, breaking up with me after all these years.  I am seeking a new tool. Will you be my tool, Spotify?  If you do, please add a function to upload an OPML file to my Spotify profile. I will show you mine if you show me yours.
Thanks

With Stitcher closing down in August, this is a really necessary feature to make it easy to finally have my music and podcasts in the same place!

Stitcher,  the great podcast app is regrettably ending, now is the time to build a decent Spotify podcast organizer / player.

Hi. With Stitcher closing I'm looking to import my podcasts to Spotify using an OPML file, which is supposed to be open source for all podcast players. Is there a way to do this?

Hello!

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. We appreciate your interest in importing your podcasts from Stitcher to Spotify using an OPML file. We understand that having the ability to seamlessly transfer subscriptions between platforms is important to podcast enthusiasts like yourself.

While OPML files are commonly used in the podcasting industry to facilitate the transfer of subscriptions from one platform to another, I regret to inform you that at this time, Spotify does not offer a direct feature for importing podcasts using an OPML file.

However, I'd like to assure you that we highly value feedback and suggestions from our community members. Your request for such a feature has been duly noted, and we'll make sure to share it with our development team for consideration as they continue to work on enhancing and expanding Spotify's podcasting experience.

In the meantime, we encourage you to explore the various podcasts available on Spotify and consider subscribing to your favorite shows directly through our platform. Our extensive podcast library offers a wide range of content to cater to diverse interests.

If you have any further questions or if there's anything else we can assist you with, please don't hesitate to let us know. We're here to help.

Thank you for being a valuable member of the Spotify Community!

I'd like to make a "request for such a feature" as well. I have used Stitcher for years now and was bummed when they said they were shutting down. Then, a ray of hope! They're providing me with an OPML file that I can import my podcasts into the platform of my choice. The beauty of that is that all of my podcasts AND my progress would be transferred to the new platform. Then, try as I may, Spotify did not seem to accept this file. In fact, only lower-tier (in my opinion) platforms would do that seamlessly.

I have also used Spotify for years, but for music. It seems like a natural choice to import my Stitcher preferences there. Keep in mind, I am not a tech genius by any means. Switching from one platform to another seems like a major undertaking to me. I know, I'm old.

If you could strongly consider making this transition easier for dinosaurs like me, that would be great! And also consider that the import/export feature would have to be available soon, as Stitcher's end date fast approaches.

Help an old guy cross the street!

Not just for dinosaurs.

I have also been using Sticher and now they are closing, I wanted to import all my listening info into Spotify. I saw a thread from 2018 also requesting this and clearly nothing 5 years later. You have really missed a trick. Everyone is just going to download another podcast app rather than use Spotify. Even though you push the podcasts section so much on you app, THIS would have been to opportunity to add millions of listeners to your platform, not the crappy push notifications.
