Public or private notes on songs/albums/artists/playlists.

It would be awesome if you could create private notes for songs/artists/albums/playlists etc. For me personally, I get a lot of song recommendations from the soundtracks of tv episodes that I watch. It's hard to keep track of what song I know from what show and I think it would be a cool feature. People could make notes on songs that played on their first date with their significant other, on music that was in the background of certain events and so on. It would create a whole other level to music listening on Spotify as each song you have a note on would remind you of something. Could help with people who have dementia, memory loss or any memory-based problem to remember certain songs. In your library there could be a section dedicated to what songs have notes on them as well for easy access. You could also choose between private and public notes to create recommendations for your friends to see or for your eyes only. Notes as a concept is a great idea. On platforms like Instagram and Tiktok, a note is a status update. On Spotify, it could be so much more. Please think about it.

Some songs have special meanings to some people. If we could add private or public or shared notes to song, that would be helpful and help remember how you felt listening to the song at the time!

I make Playlist based on times or experiences and want to be able to add notes for each song on the playlist.

For example I'm traveling now and making a Playlist for the trip, I want to add notes for where I heard each song like "song the lady selling veggies in Montevista was dancing to" or "lullaby the airbnb guy played on the guitar" etc.

i often wish i could add a little comment to songs to help categorize my music such that i forget what genre something is when i haven't heard it in a long time.  also would be nice to add memories information, such as "heard this in a bar in Belgium."

This would be great for Karaoke playlists, I would love to keep a note on things like how hard it is on my voice, or "this song has a key change in the middle" or "there's a section in falsetto" and so on

It would be great if there was a comment section for the song you're listening to in the player where people could talk about the song, artist, etc. On YouTube it's really beautiful hearing all the stories bout the music and the comments about the music. This would be a great feature for Spotify users to just talk about their favorite music.

This would also massively help out producers and musicians that want to sample parts of old tracks and need to keep a note of the part of the track to sample before it’s added to a sample bank.

Dear Spotify Team,

I’d like to propose a feature that could add a deeply personal and interactive layer to the listening experience—Personal Song Notes for saved tracks.

Music is more than just sound; it’s a vessel for memories, emotions, and moments that define us. Often, we save songs for reasons beyond their melody—because they remind us of something, capture a fleeting feeling, or contain a specific part we love. However, over time, we forget why we saved a song in the first place. A song notes feature would allow users to attach personal annotations to their saved tracks, helping them:

1. Revisit memories associated with a song, making their playlists more meaningful.

2. Highlight favorite parts (e.g., "Love the bridge at 2:15—pure magic").

3. Track emotional connections to songs, enriching the listening experience.

This feature would function as a private, personal music journal, adding depth to our interaction with Spotify beyond just listening. It could be seamlessly integrated into the UI—perhaps as a small expandable section in the song details within playlists.

By implementing this, Spotify wouldn’t just be a music streaming service; it would become a curator of personal histories, where music and memory intertwine.

I believe this feature would resonate with many users who see music as an extension of their thoughts and emotions.

Thank you.

Introducing: Playlist Notes.

Want to create a dark Academia themed playlist your friends? Use Playlist Notes. Unsure if the song you've added is part of the vibe? Use Playlist Notes. Want to turn the playlist into a romantic message for your partner? Use Playlist Notes.

Playlist notes are the perfect answer to creating a playlist, whether its small cute notes to yourself or long poems to your partner, their versatility is key. As a person who loves having al alter ego and is inspired by creating visuals from music, Playlist Notes will be an answer to it all. You and I will quickly be able to see what's been said... or what we were thinking about during the time of writing. They can also be highly collaborative. If a friend and I have an idea, we can get to storyboarding it on a playlist using this brand new note feature.

I've also left 2 images down below for how they would look and feel to interact with on mobile devices and desktop. Spotify if you are looking to improve sales during Valentine's day next year, or mothers & fathers day this year. Playlist Notes are your way to go. Check the photos and see if they fit the vibe.

Subject: Feature Suggestion: "Memories" – A New Way to Relive Music Moments

Hi Spotify Team,

I have an idea for a new feature that could enhance the emotional connection users have with their music: "Memories."

Music is deeply tied to our experiences—whether we’re at a party, driving, working, or spending time with loved ones. Songs often bring back strong memories, and we naturally associate music with special moments in our lives.

How would "Memories" work?

While listening to a song, users can attach a photo or short video to capture the moment.

These saved moments would be accessible in a dedicated "Memories" section within the app.

Users could revisit their musical memories, seeing the songs they’ve associated with different experiences.

Why is this valuable?

It adds a deeply personal and nostalgic layer to Spotify.

Encourages engagement by allowing users to create meaningful connections with their music.

Differentiates Spotify from other streaming services by making it more than just a music player.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this idea. I believe it could make Spotify even more personal and emotionally engaging for users. Thanks for considering this!

Looking forward to your feedback.

Best,

Sevil

let us add other photos to our playlist, you have the cover but when you swipe on the cover (like Today's Top Hits had for like... a day but with videos) so you can see the other photos that inspired the playlist or "alternative covers" that could've been the original, similar to how an artist has a photoshoot, one pic ends up the cover, the others are posted online, this could also be done to albums if artists wanna add concept photos or alt covers
