[Queue] Queue to Next or Last

Present two options on rightclick, Queue Last and Queue Next. Very easy to implement, and useful.

The way I been using spotty lately is to keep adding to Play Queue, it has gotten really long and sometimes I want to listen to something right now, then I have to add to queue and then move the songs all the way up to the top.

Mediamonkey have had this implemented since long ago. Mediamonkey is btw the best musicorganizer I've ever owned or tried.

Hey there,

Thanks for this submission. We had a slight hiccup with moving ideas to different boards, but it's all good now.

We're setting the status of this one as "not right now", but that doesn't mean that your votes don't count.

Cheers!

Perhaps Apple is paying them a hefty bribe to stop them adding the feature … Just like they do Google to keep it the default search engine in the Safari web browser address bar

Thanks guys! Was debating whether or not to switch to another music streaming platform. As you all don't have any immediate plans to implement this incredibly simple and basic feature that would not affect existing users in any way, I'll be changing my Sub Status to Inactive🙂

Yeah, we'd really have loved hearing what went on in these "in-depth" internal tests you were conducting. Adding a right-click option to "play next" would:

  • not confuse current users, as current functionality and behaviour would not change in any way
  • add a basic feature which exists since at least winamp in any standalone and cloud-based modern player
  • imply that Spotify doesn't consider its' users dumber than those of apple music and other competitors, whose players already have this very basic feature.

It's baffling, really.

Boooo, Spotify! Boooooo!!!!!!!

Sooooo? Ready to "check back in here with a new status"? 🙂

As others have said, I believe making this feature something that can be enabled and disabled in the settings would appease everyone. It doesn't have to be visible to those who don't want it, however the hundreds who have requested it here plus everyone who has appreciated this basic feature on other platforms can finally add it to their Spotify experience.

Please reconsider adding this feature and improving the user experience.

I wish Spotify would add the option to add songs to the top or bottom of the queue. Sometimes, when I add songs to my queue, I want to hear them next immediately but they're added to the very bottom of the queue, and it's troublesome to move them around my list especially if there are already a lot of songs queued up. I think having the ability to move songs to the top or bottom of the queue would really improve our listening experience. Thank you!

Yes, this would be very helpful! I almost always have 100+ songs queued, so if I want to add something to listen to immediately, moving it up the queue manually is a hassle!

I saw this posted back in 2012, but it was since closed and feel it is worth revisiting. Adding the ability to differentiate add to queue next or last would be really helpful. I often find when I'm adding something to the queue it's because I want to listen to it next or that I want to show it to a friend, but without interrupting our current listening. It can be really annoying to queue something and know that I won't get to it for another 20 songs, but I don't want to clear my queue.

Currently, when browsing songs in the queue, there aren’t that many features available when selecting 1 or more songs (there is only “delete” which deletes the selected songs from the queue).

My idea is to add 1 more button: “to the top” or something like that, which puts the selected songs to the sop of the queue.

Currently if I add a song to a queue and want it to be next to play (not last, as it is automatically placed at the end/bottom of the queue) I have to go to the queue, scroll down, tap and hold that song, and slowly drag it to the top.

I haven’t found any answers to this problem, and I think a simple button next to “delete” after selecting songs would improve the experience.

What do you think?
