Request for Transparency and Control Over AI-Generated Music

Hello Spotify Team,

I’m writing to express my concern about AI-generated artists and AI-generated music appearing on Spotify.

As a paying subscriber, I want to support real artists, musicians, songwriters, and producers. I do not agree with AI-generated artists being presented alongside human artists without clear and obvious disclosure.

I believe Spotify should:

• Clearly identify music that is substantially AI-generated.
• Give users the option to exclude AI-generated artists and songs entirely from their listening choices, recommendations, playlists, radio, and discovery features.
• Allow users to choose whether or not they want AI-generated artists to appear anywhere in their Spotify experience.
• Ensure that AI-generated content does not unfairly reduce exposure or compensation for human artists.
• Be transparent about Spotify’s policies regarding AI-generated music.

I’m not asking Spotify to decide what everyone should listen to. I’m asking for transparency and the freedom to choose. If I prefer to listen only to human artists, I should have the ability to exclude AI-generated artists from my choices completely.

I would strongly encourage Spotify to add a setting allowing subscribers to opt out of AI-generated music and artists entirely.
