Social jukebox?

A Spotify social jukebox could be a lightweight, gamified music system for bars, restaurants, and venues. Vendors could subscribe to Spotify and get an interactive queue that visiting patrons control from their own phones by scanning a QR code to suggest songs, vote tracks up or down, or earn small boosts through in-venue engagement like trivia, happy hours, or purchases.

Venues could still stay in control with simple filters (explicit content, genre limits, tempo by time of day), while users get an interactive and fun way to choose the music using the app they already love. No extra apps, no bloated interfaces, just friendly pay-to-play music curation and competition to improve the vibe of users' local hotspots.

For Spotify, it means more music played in public spaces, valuable listening data, and a new subscription tier for venues. For everyone else, it’s a way to make going out more interactive, while supporting artists, venues, and the community that already uses Spotify every day.

Agree, we sometimes want to hear our favorite songs at our favorite spots. Call it open Spotify night, 😀
