Switch to new playlist after current song has ended

If you are playing music in a group its not great to skip songs. But sometimes the currently playing playlist doesn't fit the current vibe anymore.

At the moment, you have to wait until the current playing song is finished and then quickly press "play" on the next playlist.

As an improvement, a new button in the ...-menu of playlists called something like "switch to this playlist after the current playing song has ended" could solve the whole problem.

This could be a great quality of life improvement and fairly simple to implement 😉

Try this, open the playlist you wanna play >> "ADD TO QUEUE "

SirBuvex

yes, I got you point but that is not what I wanted. The method you described just adds the songs of the playlist to the queue.
My definition of which playlist is currently playing is the following:

When the song is in the playlist which currently plays, the name of the playlist is displayed on the top

Instead if the song was added via the queue this is also displayed

When I execute the playlist-switching in the way you described, the songs are only added to the queue (as already mentioned before).
Big downside of your proposal: If I want to add another song to the queue, it gets appended to the queue – as expected. But that also means that the desired gets only played after the “new” playlist has finished, which can easily take a couple of hours. To play the song immediately after the current playing song you have to move the song manually up in the queue which is very tedious.

I hope you get my point and understand now why your proposed solution is very unpractical

This could be even more helpful if you have crossfade activated

Ages ago spotify used to have that (really very useful) feature. Can't remember the exact name but it was something like "Set as active playlist" on a playlist context menu. Will never understand why they took it out.

Please add it back!

Yes, exactly as jorgero555 wrote, please bring back the "Set as active playlist" function!

I've wanted exactly this for so long, really hope they implement this
