The ♡ Heart button AND! a (+) Plus button

In March 2023, the  Heart button will start being replaced with a (+) Plus button for saving things to Your Library. Things that have been saved to Your Library will now show a green ✔ Check icon instead of a green Heart icon.

While the new (+) button is quite useful to know if a song is added to your library, many users loved to see a heart icon ♡ on their favorite songs.

Currently, to add a song to your favorites (♡) you have to click on the (+) button and add it to your favorites! It's very confusing, and it took away from seeing a lovely heart next to your favorite songs. 😞

My idea is for users to have both buttons.

The (+) button to let users know that your songs are added in their libraries.
And the ♡ button so users can directly add their songs to their favorites!

Both buttons would work very well, and would be very intuitive for users.

Thank you very much for your support, I invite you to share the link to the idea so that it can get more recognition and reach Spotify, thank you very much. ♥

Stop removing good features for no reason

The two-button is the solution for this **** change, which forces people to change the way they interact with Spotify.

However, given how Spotify operates and the apparent lack of developers using their own product or understanding its workings, it seems unlikely that we will ever have this.

Would be cool if the songs with hearts go into a favourites playlist for top favourite songs from your library

I like the + addition but I need the heart back somewhere so I can see liked tracks. I love to build and edit playlists and it has become so hard to do since I cannot readily see what tracks I have hearted.

I understand it may have been about music discovery, however that doesn't have to be the case. You could design a Music discovery mode toggle, where in that mode it can play songs you've never heard based on your listening profile obviously.

Tagging onto this, a possible feature (especially on mobile) that could ensure the number of buttons isn't super crowded would be holding down the heart (<3) button for a second or two in order to bring up the "add to playlist" feature that the plus (+) button currently has. This could be in addition to including the plus (+) "add to playlist" button within the (...) extra menu that each song already has.

If ever there was a case of don't break it if it works....Spotify keeps making silly little changes, but more useful things (like sorting albums by release date remains ignored.   So fed up.

This is my concept of how they should bring back the icon heart button I just suggest for Spotify to make the icons a tiny bit smaller 🙂

there is a difference between liking a song (having it effect my recomendations) and adding it to a playlist (songs that I may need to get back to because I want to listen to them or because I need to learn them).  Not everything on a playlist os something I like.
