The ability to disable the Jam function.

Ok so Jam function seems incredibly odd to begin with, but I suppose in a rare instance where you want to listen to love songs with someone who's far away at the exact same time, or you're running a silent Disco, there might be a use for it for a very small number of people.

But there should be an option to disable it in your settings. Let's start with the hypothetical scenario that I don't want to run into: A crazy ex or a stalker trying to send me their sad playlist everyday. Also, and possibly more frustrating, is the automatic prompt that comes of when you and another person listening to Spotify are on the same Wi-Fi. Why am I being sent an unprompted question without an invitation from another user in my home or business if I would like to join and listen to exactly what they're listening to at the same time. If I happen to want that, would I not just play the music aloud? We obviously already started listening to what we want to listen to on our own devices by ourselves, so why would I suddenly want to listen to exactly what they want to listen to?  Automatically searching for users on the same Wi-Fi seems crazy intrusive to me what if we're on a public Wi-Fi at a mall? How many prompts would you'd be receiving to join? Anyway I don't mind if this crazy feature (that I'm willing to bet a Year's membership that under 5% of users use monthly) stays on the app,  I just want the ability to turn it off so it doesn't bother me while I'm listening to music by myself.

Jams are a trash feature, delete it.

Not to mention it's just buggy. A few minutes ago I got a popup: "Would you like to join A's jam?" Tapped no thanks. 5 seconds later:

"Would you like to join A's jam?" No thanks.

"Would you like to join A's jam?" I X'd out

"Would you like to join A's jam?" I quit Spotify and restarted it.

"Would you like to join A's jam?" No thanks, started playing something else.

"Would you like to join A's jam?" I had to go into settings and enable only connecting to devices on the same wifi network (thankfully I'm away from home right now and not on wifi).

Listen to/hire some UX folks and don't use intrusive pop-ups, especially for features that would be used super rarely. If I want to start listening to music with the same person, I'll go specifically looking for that option, not do it on a whim because of a popup.

Jam with default on and no ability to disable it is a terrible idea. I am in a shared-wifi environment for the next several weeks, and it is a Violation Of My Privacy for anyone on the wifi to have ANY control over or ANY access to my phone. It should be ***** OFF ***** by default. Since I can’t turn it off, the only obvious answer is to STOP USING SPOTIFY while I am here. Maybe… back to Apple Music?

I love how 74 people have upvoted this idea, and you have not done anything about it. Today I was trying to follow the lyrics to a song, and was invited to join a jam 12 times in 45 seconds. This idea sucks. Why the **bleep** would I want to be invaded like that? This should be as intentional as connecting Bluetooth, or something similar. Fix it now! We are paying for this service and it's not good enough.

Oh and by the way, this is my umpteenth post on here. You can look at the other ones. Nothing has been fixed yet. It's obvious to everyone on this forum that you guys do not have any programmers. Please hire one and get this stuff done

I'm strongly in favour of adding an option to disable this feature by default. In a home setting, or when away with friends it can be great to listen together, but 9/10 times I don't want to share my music queue at all.

As a Developer, this is the worst idea ever implemented and a huge invasions into privacy. When ever I am in a public wifi I can’t listen to music anymore without having to babysit spotify and hope no **bleep** joins my jam and changes my music list. Additionally this feature is buggy as **bleep**: I was on an airplane and spotify auto joined someones jam on the network and now it is telling my I can every leave it again due to some connection issues even though there are no networking issues at all!!!
**bleep**ING REMOVE THIS FEATURE OR ALLOW US TO TURN**bleep** OFF NOW!!!

Currently trying to toggle off jam and it won't let me - it automatically toggles back on the moment I lift my finger. Who designed this trash? Whoever it was, I hope they're fired now, as well as everyone else involved in implementing this disaster.

Please please please Spotify! Allow us to listen privately to our music on our own devices! After ten years of premium membership, if anyone can still just hijack my device on shared wifi or see what I'm listening too, I WILL LEAVE! Also please no pop-ups for rarely used features! Accidentally taking over someone's device because a link to join a jam session suddenly appears beneath my fingers is very frustrating, and it's only worse that it lets them know who did it. Unbelievably dumb! Do better! Fix this!

This needs to be fixed ASAP. The constant pop ups for connecting to a jam and me clicking not now every 13 seconds is driving me crazy!
