[Your Library] Automatically follow artists whose songs are saved

I went to go to my artists tab on spotify to find ideas for what to listen to today, but it's been utterly butchered with the new update. Now, you have to follow artists individually instead of being able to see the artists of all your liked songs. This is a regressive change, and very inconvenient. I can still go to my own likes songs and sort by artist there to get a list of all my artists, but that's really inconvenient cause I have to scroll through all of the songs by one artist in order to get to the next one. Plus, if I wanna play just my liked songs by an artist, I have to type in the artist's name in my liked songs playlist instead of just going to my artist library and tapping on that artist.  please fix this.

Hi everyone.

We're not planning any changes at the moment, but please keep leaving your Likes and we'll come back if we have news.

This app is fine for the first half of that and shows how clean and easy the implementation could be: http://www.nativenoise.co.za/spotify/follow-all-artists/

Any apps previously built for Auto-Following from playlists are now dead links but it would be very handy as traipsing through a 1k+ playlist is beyond laborious and I have playlists 3x larger than that.

Thanks!

Been rocking version  8.4.98.892 from April 2019 since that time as I'm just in denial of having to follow artists for them to show up in my artists page. Spotify truly doesn't give a flying **bleep** about its users. UI is simply BS

Btw, even if you do follow the artist every time you tap on them it will take you to the artist page where then you can press the "liked songs" tab, it's incredibly idiotic. Like, who truly came up with this mayor BS?

I just switched back to Spotify from Apple Music and I'm very disappointed that this basic functionality is missing.  Could an option be added in preferences: "Automatically follow the artist when a song is liked"?

I think it would be interesting to have an option to follow artists automatically if you have a distinct number of their tracks in your favorites list.

Personally, I would like to follow artists automatically from which I liked 3 or more songs. But I think it should be up to anyone to enable or disable this option and to choose the number of tracks which are sufficient for the app to follow an artist for you. This feature could be even more interesting in combination with an option to sort your followed artists by the number of songs you got in your favorites playlist.

These options could make the app even more individual and interesting for potential new customers. I would personally use spotify more if this feature would be available.

I'd like to see an automatic artist follow trigger option that I can set to follow an artist after I have liked a user set amount of songs belonging to any given artist.. I often miss following artists that I really like and discovering their new music simply because I haven't realized I haven't followed them even though I've like multiple songs by them. I would like to choose a number of songs to trigger a follow, so after I have liked 2 or more, 3 or more, etc songs by an artist, I am automatically updated on their other music and albums I might enjoy.

This is an easy issue to fix.  On the Artists page give a toggle; show Artists in Library or show Artists you Follow.

@ken_mrozinski

Where is this toggle option located?

I'm checking the Android app and the Windows 10 app and I do not see an "Artists in Library" or "Artists You Follow" option under Library / Artists (I see the Sort options and Display (List or Thumbnail) options.

I was suggesting to Spotify that they could implement the same style of filter that they implemented under Playlists.
