[Your Library] Create a “marked for download” option to make re-downloading quick and painless

If you’ve ever had to re-download your Spotify library, you’ll understand how time consuming and tedious it can be to revisit all of your liked albums and playlists just to hit the download button again on your favourites.

Wouldn’t it be great to have an option to mark an album/playlist/song for download the first time you download it so that you never have to download it again? This feature could also be used to sync downloads across devices, when you buy a new phone, if you have to re-download your library due to travelling long term etc.

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk, pls help

TL:DR if my mobile-device streaming app experience since GPM shut down a few years ago:

  • Try a new streaming app and pay for their premium service
  • Rebuild my music library in this new service off of memory. Manually add all these albums to the library.
  • Download all my favorite albums because I pay for a premium service that allows me to download music. Have to manually press a download button for all these albums (usually a few menu-navigation into this button applied to often hundreds of albums).
  • Sooner-or-later, the app becomes buggy or breaks.
  • Contact App's service department or otherwise scour forums for advice.
  • The only solution ends up being, "clear cache, data, uninstall, reinstall". App works again but I've now lost all my downloaded music.
  • Spend several hours manually re-downloaded all my albums, one by one.

I've given up on developers providing ways to recover their apps with anything other than the, 'clear cache/data/uninstall/reinstall".

Can we please get a, '1-click-download-all-favorited-music' so that this inevitable process is less painful for paying customers?

There should be a way to know the recent and past data of spotify downloaded songs. This is helpful, especially when you lose your downloaded songs on a device,
or when you lose your spotify premium on your spotify account.
It's annoying to always have to lose your downloaded songs on a device, or when you lose your spotify premium. It'd be cool to know the data of what songs you had downloaded, so you could download them again. It's also pretty irritating to just put your downloaded songs, playlists, and albums that you downloaded in one playlist, because it's too messy.

I don't want to download my spotify downloaded songs on MP3, I just want to know the songs I've downloaded, whether it's old or new. It'd be cool if there was a website or a list of the songs I've downloaded before, and now.

That's all, I just need a list of the downloaded songs, playlists, and albums.
Something similiar to the image I uploaded, even when I removed them from my downloads, hopefully this would become a feature soon. Thanks for reading!

For the mobile app.

TLDR: my ideas boils down to: I want a way to bulk download a bunch, or if easier, all of my library at once. It would ++++++++++ my experience in the car as missing out on music I'm in the mood for whilst offline is my worst enemy

Take my use case for example:

- I heart a lot of different albums, and create a bunch of playlists, like a bunch of songs etc..

- I download the app on my phone

- I love music and hate using up my internet bundle enough to the point where I would like to download most if not all of my library (liked songs, playlists and albums) at once. So that I can listen to my music offline, without the tedious process of downloading everything one by one.

The best option would be if you could go to your library -> switch on an option "select" (or something) that adds a checkbox to your library content (like you would see in your mail inbox). So that you can select a few albums/playlists and do some global actions on them.

Say I select 5 albums and 3 playlists, and I want to add all that to another playlist, or a new playlist, or download them all etc.. etc..

This would probably combine a lot of user wishes into one nice functionality.

Dear Spotify Support Team,

I am writing to you as a long-term user of your service. I recently had a lapse in my Premium subscription for a few days, during which I had an extensive amount of music content downloaded to my devices for offline listening. Upon reactivating my Premium account, I was very disappointed to find that all of this previously downloaded content is no longer available for offline playback and requires manually re-downloading every single playlist and album.

I find it unacceptable that I have to spend a significant amount of time manually searching for and re-downloading dozens (in my case, possibly hundreds) of playlists and albums that I had already legitimately downloaded as part of my Premium account. This process is extremely time-consuming, frustrating, and significantly diminishes the user experience of a service I am once again paying for.

Therefore, I would like to strongly suggest the implementation of a feature that would allow users, upon reactivating their Premium subscription, to restore all previously downloaded content to their devices with a single click (or a simple option in the settings). Such a feature would identify previously downloaded tracks/playlists/albums and automatically initiate their re-download to the offline library without requiring manual intervention for each item.

I believe that implementing such a solution would greatly improve the user experience for customers who, for whatever reason, temporarily find themselves without Premium access and subsequently renew it. It would save users a considerable amount of time and frustration and would reinforce the perception of Spotify as a service that values the convenience of its paying customers.

I expect you to take this suggestion seriously and consider its implementation. The current situation, from the perspective of a user reactivating their premium service, is truly demotivating.

Thank you for your time and for addressing this issue.
