[Your Library] Order/sort albums by release date/year

Now that the original release year should be available please add an option to the new album view to use it for sorting.

there could be options for at least:

"SORTED BY ARTIST / YEAR"

"SORTED BY ARTIST / TITLE"

"SORTED BY YEAR"

There could be some kind of subtle separator where the artist changes when listing the album covers. Also the release year should be shown in the album images.

I am a new Spotify user.  The very first thing I tried to do after selecting the artist I wanted to listen to, was to sort the albums by year. I'm baffled that I cannot do that.  Why hasn't this been implemented yet?

I've got even more sorting needs:
I’d like an option to sort my albums by the date I added them to my Albums in My Music. So I can easily look up the newly discovered albums I added.

I agree that being able to sort by year seems really basic. Add this to my list of reasons I'm thinking of switching to a different service.

Went here to post this idea myself, but found out the idea had already been offered. I would really like to see a filter by year of release option in the album section of Spotify. It would be a neat way to display your  music collection and it would make finding things you want to listen to in your collection easier to find: It would simply make sense to be able to navigate your music in this manner.

A long time ago, you seemed to think positively of such a feature. So, please Spotify, implement this.

I love to listen to a full discography of both favourite and new bands, and a straightforward feature to order albums by original release year when in 'Albums in Your Library' for a given artist would make this so much easier than creating my own playlists (what a b*llache).

Sorting by album attributes (name, release year, popularity...) or by song (name, popularity...) in this part of the UI is such a basic feature.

Come on Spotify, this thread has been up for nearly 4 years...
