disable all video content inside Spotify - allow only music

I caught my 15yo watching MrBeast on Spotify. I was not aware that Spotify will allow anything beside music. The idea behind family plan was to allow my kids to explore world of music, discover old and new artists, find their music, something we can talk about. Catching my teen watchign this mindless beast **bleep** is massively disappointing. I thought of Spotify as a sanctuary from ever more toxic social media. I am willing to pay, I am not willing to expose my kids to trash. I am canceling my subscription as the result will explore service alternatives. I hope Spotify at some point rectify this problem and allow parents to control content their kids are exposed to.
Spotify Kids is NOT a solution for teens.

Please give us the option to turn off suggested videos. I strongly dislike opening my app and having podcast episode videos suggested. I’ve deleted all social media because I don’t want to be bombarded with videos. I want to listen to podcasts, music and books without being distracted by wasting time mindlessly scrolling. I understand that some people want to watch, but it’s important to me that I can listen without this app being a source of distraction.

All wishing for the option to disable video (mainly to prevent kids from watching mindless **bleep**). You may have different reasons for not wanting to watch videos, but I don't think Spotify cares.

Couldn’t agree more. I paid for a music service and am being pushed video, shorts and social media stuff I can’t opt out of or hide.

this will 100% cause me to look for another service without the clutter and bloat.

Fully support this. In my case, I do watch video content but I don't want it from an audio app. I like to use Chromecast to listen to podcasts via my TV. When I do this, I want the audio content only and I would like to be able to at least disable the video content. However, I would be happy to have no video content at all on Spotify.

I use Spotify exclusively for audio content and have no interest in video playback within the application. While I have disabled Canvas backgrounds, I continue to experience unwanted video content on my home page and during podcast playback. I have also activated the setting to prevent video autoplay when not connected to Wi-Fi.

I recognize that video content is a desired feature for many users; however, I am not among them. I suspect there is a significant number of users that share this preference. The delivery of unsolicited video content consumes unnecessary bandwidth and detracts from the core audio experience. The implementation of features such as this push me a little closer to Apple music each day.

Save yourself some capacity. This would not only improve the user experience for those who prefer audio-only usage but also potentially reduce bandwidth consumption.

I like Spotify because it doesn’t distract me while working or using my phone. However, the new explorer section on the homepage feels like Instagram reels or TikTok, which I find hinders productivity. It would be great to have a feature to toggle this on and off.

I don't want to keep dealing on every song, with the the choice on whether to show videos or not.

I want to be able to set that configuration once and forget about it

Same here. 7 and 4 yesrs old Kids. Just wanted them to allow Listen to music. But then I catch them watching videos. But that’s not the deal.

Great idea! I don’t have kids at all (no Spotify Kids things). I am a iOS user and almost every song (see in the picture) has a video available thing. It annoys me 😂😂

User SHOULD have control on whether we want to stream the video for a podcast and/or music videos.

I used Spotify for music and podcasts to LISTEN , I don't want the video ever. Firstly this takes up space in my app which is slightly annoying, but more annoyingly- androids picture in picture decided I obviously want this on my screen while I'm trying to do other things !! This is stupid, how can you not allow users this choice ?

Secondly, this uses up valuable bandwidth and compute to decode 2 streams when just 1 is needed- I appreciate the ability to disable this on cell but this is not what us users want.

Furthermore, my last point on data saver suggests this is a simple implementation to allow this boolean variable to be set on any network interface.
