[iOS] Adjust the volume

in one of the last updates the way of adjusting the volume of another device was changed. for example, I use my phone to adjust the volume of the streamer. previously, even on a locked phone, it was enough to press the volume button and the streamer would react accordingly.
recently adjustments using a displayed bar were added. the previous method was the simplest for the user that it could be. now we have a few additional actions:
1. unlocking the phone
2. entering the spotify application
3. pressing the volume button which does not adjust the volume, but shows a sliding bar
4. sliding the bar or clicking on the volume icons.

I think that the previous way of adjusting the volume should either come back because it was the fastest, most convenient, or at least in the settings there should be an option to choose how I would like to adjust the volume.

Hi,

This morning I had a very unpleasant surprise when starting to play Spotify on my audio pro device, starting from my iPhone (picking speaker in Spotify app).

A while back the app was changed so instead of iPhone volume control controlling the audio pro speaker directly, it usually opens a separate volume control.

I don’t like this behavior in general, for instance it means that I need to unlock the phone and go into Spotify to control the volume.

But back to this morning. For whatever reason the speaker started att max volume. I tried to decrease the volume by decreasing the volume on the phone to activate the Spotify volume slider, but I guess because my device already had min volume the Spotify slider didn’t appear.

First - I don’t think Spotify ever should start playing remote speaker on or near max level.

Second - I really don’t like this behavior, especially when it doesn’t react to volume down because iPhone already is muted.

This turned out a very unpleasant experience, not least because I have tinnitus, which normally is manageable but not so much after extreme levels of noise like this morning.

To clarify, the Audio pro was connected directly to Spotify, so not just as a Bluetooth speaker.

This won’t apply to everyone, but if you have an Apple Watch, you can open the Spotify companion app and adjust the playback device’s volume using the crown.

Which also baffles me that this volume control still works but the basic volume controls on the phone itself do not.

This is quite an inconvenient “feature” to have been changed/removed.
