As we've seen over the past few days the Spotify Wrapped Promo's are coming and it's nearly time to unwrap your listening habits over the past year!

I think we should all try completing this over here and comparing our results when it goes live!

Great idea! I don't expect too many surprises for my Wrapped 2019 (my music taste is generally quite predictable), but I do hope it will reflect the more diverse selection of songs that I've been listening to within the pop/indie genre this year.

Without looking at my playlists and saved music for clues, my predictions for top 3 artists are as follows (and in no particular order, because that's anyone's guess):

1. Ed Sheeran
2. Maggie Rogers
3. Alec Benjamin

Close runners up are: Sigrid, Tom Odell, David Gray, Oh Wonder.

Oh Wonder would have been 3, but since I started listening to them actively quite late in the year, I'm not sure they'll make the cut. But let's see 🙂

Well, the thing is I know for a fact what my top artists and tracks are because of my last.fm stats, I am pretty sure they are not the same for Spotify because I have a habit of buying/downloading songs I love that much and listen to them elsewhere (in foobar2000).

What I suspect might be top artists:

1. Truth (because I got all over them in spring)

2. Alix Perez

3. either UNKLE or Datach'i. Idk.

I was pretty close (2 out of 3), but I totally forgot about John Mayer - he came a bit later in the year, but I was listening to his stuff pretty solidly throughout the summer and for some of autumn, so no wonder.

Nos. 4 and 5 were my predicted close runners-up, so overall I'm quite chuffed with my educated guesses 🙂

Anyone else feel their data is highly inaccurate this year? Two acts in my top played I have listened to 20 times max. Whereas there's albums I've absolutely hammered by other artists and they're no where to be seen. Pretty disappointing to be honest.
