Android's app beta version 9.0.48 crashing

We've received reports about the latest beta version 9.0.48 being unstable. The app may crash when opening Your Library, and playlists, albums and artist pages won’t load: an error message “something went wrong” is shown. It’s as if Spotify is offline, despite having perfect internet connection.

Hi folks,

Thanks for your patience while we investigate this issue.

We're happy to announce that this should now be fixed for everyone - just make sure you're running the latest version of Spotify.

Cheers 🤘

Temporary solution for now, add playlist to library with plus in search results then hold on the playlist in your library and select start a jam to add the playlist to your queue. You can end jam afterwards and whole playlist will be in queue.

May 25th, the app is now working for me. My temporary solution to be able to play music was to ask "Hey Google" to play my playlist of songs that I like, I say this in case it still doesn't work for someone or something happens Something similar that can help someone in this somewhat desperate situation, at least for me.

Issue fixed for me on Spotify app version: 9.0.50.322.

Can open playlists and artist pages without the app crashing or "Something went wrong" message.

I have this version and don't know how or why and do NOT want to be in beta!! 😭. I've uninstalled from everything possible. Reinstalled from spotify.com on my computer and Play Store on my phone and it's STILL in beta. There is no option to leave beta in the play store but there is an option to join but then errors? PLEASE tell me how to get out

Hi, @destructivedes,

Another Spotify user has posted a detailed guide on how to leave the Beta program here, feel free to check it out and give the steps a try 👍

It's still constantly crashing, even with the tips. I don't know how often I have added the same song to queue or playlists.

It's playing normally and from one second to the other, everythings gone. And sometimes the whole phone freezes and it's said the capacity pf the phone is too low, which is not true. There is still enough space

And the queue feature is great, but I would love to have the possibility to add the whole queue to a waiting playlist or whatever. Because sadly I can't always remember all the songs I queued in and sadly only adding one song at a time has not solved the issue, since it crashes even while trying to add some. I looked into problems with my connection, I emptied the cashiers. And it's happeneing on different devices.

And to add to it, since a few weeks all devices get super hot and the akku and data consumption is far higher than before. I can literally watch my akku drop while spotify runs, and feel the device getting hotter by the minute. That's not normal. And it's definitely spotify. No other app os running at the same time

I'm having the same problem ( ver. 9.0.50.416 ). I can log in but can't play any song & error " something went wrong ". Problem occured in mobile & PC. I've done all troubleshoot steps & problem still occured. Please help. Thanks in advanced @Yordan

Still having the same problem also, have tried everything from clearing cache/data to trying older versions, it's completely bugged.

  • So sadly my problems are still occuring, but hooray, now even more problems are appearing. Now I sometimes get the message "music can't be played on dpotify right now" or if I want to add one song to the queue, "this song can't be added to the queue".
  • So yeah it's really frustrating to use the app nowadays
