Android's app beta version 9.0.48 crashing

We've received reports about the latest beta version 9.0.48 being unstable. The app may crash when opening Your Library, and playlists, albums and artist pages won’t load: an error message “something went wrong” is shown. It’s as if Spotify is offline, despite having perfect internet connection.

Hi folks,

Thanks for your patience while we investigate this issue.

We're happy to announce that this should now be fixed for everyone - just make sure you're running the latest version of Spotify.

Cheers 🤘

Temporary solution for now, add playlist to library with plus in search results then hold on the playlist in your library and select start a jam to add the playlist to your queue. You can end jam afterwards and whole playlist will be in queue.

May 25th, the app is now working for me. My temporary solution to be able to play music was to ask "Hey Google" to play my playlist of songs that I like, I say this in case it still doesn't work for someone or something happens Something similar that can help someone in this somewhat desperate situation, at least for me.

@jyvnce DJ X isn't available worldwide. Some of us are paying for the new features, but don't even get them.

What is working for me is Spotify connect. I start the playlist on a computer, than select my mobile as output device.

@Gizzi Exactly. Where I live we almost never get new features. We don't even have AI DJ yet. That is why its so frustrating that the thing you do get as Prenuim user don't even work like they should.

@Gizzi That sucks man, I feel you. I didn't know DJ X wasn't available worldwide. Crazy to think that we have a new DJ that speaks Spanish but haven't completely rolled out worldwide.

As for the bug, I updated my Spotify application to 9.0.50.5 and the problem is still there.

Eevee297

@jyvnce Glad you at least can use it lol.

I just wish they fix it soon and roll out things quicker worldwide

I can confirm, I've just updated to 9.0.50.5 and the bug is still there! Come on!

Randal

Hi,

I was on beta, and tried installing the regular version from Google Play (after opting out of beta, clearing cache and data, uninstalling, and even rebooting the phone) but the issue is still there. As soon as I go into an album or playlist, I get the error. Currently can't use Spotify in my phone (Pixel 9 Pro with latest stable version of the system).

Issue started occurring this morning, yesterday I had no problems.

Help?

Sasa82

I also got the update to 9.0.50.5 but without any success.

@Yordan you can tell your devs that they do a good job in regards of getting the customers to leave your service and join yt music or another service

@Randal I really wanted to try to exit the beta but if even that doesn't help the situation is really worrying, I'm paying for nothing

Hello,

When using the Spotify android app (Version 9.0.50.5), I cannot view any playlist. If I attempt to click on a playlist, I immediately get a message saying "Something went wrong. Have another go?" and from here attempting to dismiss the message or click "try again" causes the app to immediately crash.

This applies to any playlist on the platform, not just ones I have created myself and includes downloaded content. Using the website or my PC does not have the same problem.

I have tried different networks, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, clearing cache/data, checking for app updates, checking for system updates and the classic reboot and none of these steps have resolved the issue.

Because of this issue, I cannot play any music through the Spotify Android app.
