Downloading on Apple Watch stuck at first song

We're receiving reports that some users are unable to download music for offline listening on their Apple Watches. The download is stuck on the first song and doesn't progress.

If your downloads on the Apple Watch get stuck, we'd recommend that you first try following troubleshooting steps:

• clean reinstall the app on both your smartphone and the smartwatch
• unpair and pair the watch again
  
• connect the watch to a charger
• try a different internet connection

Could you also make sure to provide us with the following info, if you haven’t already:

• models and OS versions of the phone and Apple Watch
  
• exact Spotify version
• your country

Removing /reinstalling the app from both my Apple series 6 watch and iPhone 12 resolved the issue with no further problems encountered.

Same issue. Tried all recommendations still stuck at 1 of x. Apple Watch A2092 iPhone XR. Watch and phone up to date.

My sympathies Lcammz.  Nothing has worked for me either and if the cause of the issue cannot be defined, I don’t if a workable solution can be either. I hope I am wrong.

Stuck on 2/50 for me. Deleted and re-installed both apps on phone and watch... did not fix the issue. Here are my details:

• iPhone 11 Pro Max / iOS 14.06
• Apple Watch 6 / wOS 7.6.1

 I THINK I FOUND A POSSIBLE FIX (AT LEAST IT WORKS FOR ME)

On the Watch App on your phone > go to My Watch > General > Apple ID and verify it's Signed In. For some reason mine wasn't and that appears to be my solution. Sharing here in case it works for somebody else!!

Hi All,

Seems like this is the same issue that some podcast applications have. If you start the transfer from your phone to the watch then disable Bluetooth on your watch, ensuring you are connected to WiFi the playlist should sync quickly - this worked quickly for me.

I assume it something with the way Apple enforce transfer through the phone and Bluetooth making it extremely slow/fail.

It worked for me, hopefully it helps you.

thanks Minimurl. This hasn’t worked for many of us sadly. Glad it worked for you. The ‘downloading 1 of __’ stays there, greyed out. I doubt there isn’t much we haven’t tried at this stage! No info forthcoming from Spotify as to what is causing this issue and thereby pinning down a more specific fix rather than them telling us, in various combinations to turn a, b and c off, delete, re-install etc.
