[Downtime 21.12.] Users not getting password reset emails

Hey folks!

 

Some of you might not receive a password reset email when you request it via our website. This is being looked into.

We're happy to announce that this should now be fixed for everyone 🙂 In case you're receiving magic link login emails, which you didn't request, check out this thread instead.

Earlier spotify showed several attempts at logging into my spotify account that weren't mine. So I tried to reset password but it didn't recognize my old password and the app wouldn't send a link to reset it.

I have had the same email sent to me continuously this afternoon (five times). Should we be changing our passwords or is this just someone trying to attempt to gain access to our accounts but have been unsuccessful?

Same issue here. I’ve reset my password multiple times and changed my login method but still receiving “Get back into your Spotify account” emails every hour or so.

My Question or Issue

I've received about 10 emails in the last 24hrs with subject regain access to your account. I do however have normal access to my account (listening while typing this). I'm wondering if me receiving these emails means if someone is trying to access my account and if so, if something can be done about it?

I myself got 9 of these emails last night as well, and at first I thought it was my ex or something but now I think there's a weird glitch.

I also have received 4 of these emails over the last 24 hours. I have changed my password just in case, not sure what else I can do?

Also with this issue. Very annoying. How is this so easy for someone to spam? There’s really no stopping them from trying after X times in 24 hours? Ridiculous that this activity doesnt get flagged somehow. At least let us respond that it was not us so you can blacklist the location or IP address, even if just for a short period of time.

I've had about 10 in the last 24hrs. I have changed pw and email associated with the account but still getting them to the old email.

Same issue here. Even my girlfriend got one of these. Our accounts are linked via family plan.
