[Downtime 21.12.] Users not getting password reset emails

Some of you might not receive a password reset email when you request it via our website. This is being looked into.

I too have been getting an email every hour or so that suggests somebody is trying to log in to my account by clicking the "forgot password" link and sending me an email. If some people are reporting not getting the emails they request, and others are getting loads of emails they didn't request I suspect that a digit has been dropped from a database or something similar so we are all getting emails about each other's accounts. For example I just registered to the forum and the email didn't show up in my inbox, I guess it's gone to someone else so they're now wondering when they registered to the forum.

Hi,

I’ve gotten multiple emails from spotify giving me a link to regain access to my account. It seems to be a legit email address too,**bleep**.

Is someone trying to gain access to my account? Is there anything one should do once they get these requests? I didn’t click the links just to be sure, but it coming from the official Spotify address did catch me off-guard. I want to know if i can safely just ignore the emails or if i should take action like change the email that’s linked to my spotify.

Oops, didn’t know the email bleeps out. Anyways it’s just a noreply email with spotify’s domain. Not sketchy looking at least, but multiple emails going throughout the day is kinda sus

I want to install the Spotify app on my new Mac. Login to my Spotify account is not possbiel as i have no idea what the orginal password was (on Windows the app logs in automatic, never asks for a password).

I cannot reset my password because I never receive an email. Howe many times I try, email is simple not sent to me.

I also cannot couple spotify to my Apple ID via the Windwos app, all steps go fine but it always ends up with:

'' Er is iets fout gegaan, probeer het nog eens" which means "Something went wring, try again."

The spotify app on windows works fine, I can access my account hence I can create this comment via my account.

But getting spotify working on my new Mac seems te be impossible. Don't know the original password, cannot reset the password nor can I add Apple ID to my account.

Are there multiple tehcnical isseus with Spotify that should be fixed in the near future or is it not meant to works on an Apple computer?

Same here. Maybe someone at Spotify has leaked account email addresses and now we're getting spammed as bots are issuing reset requests waiting for someone to use the link in the email... Maybe Spotify should review and rethink their password reset feature so it can’t be exploited this way.

I tried to enable two factor on my account bc of these scary emails, but it's only available for artists! Very weird, since it's pretty much standard these days... Tried chatting with customer service and they told me it might be system issue at Spotify. I've gotten like ten emails in six hours, they're pretty much hourly. So scared I'll click on the link accidentally 😅

Yeah, I'm getting these too.  I bet I've gotten about 12 of them in the last 24 hours.

@Serdar2 Yes it happens to me to, I really don't know why but, i have gotten about 10+ in the last week... I have to silence my notifications so i can even sleep
