[Mobile] Issue playing filtered Liked Songs via Connect

Hey folks!

We've been receiving reports that the Search function stops responding when Connect is in use. Tapping on a song search result doesn't do anything and the Now Playing view stops responding. This is being looked into.

We currently can't provide you with an exact timeframe in which a fix for this will be released but it's on our radar. As a workaround - try adding the song to the queue instead.

Keep us posted in case anything changes on your and we'll do the same 🙂
Many thanks!

Hi there @adamsandler5734,

Once you open the link, you'll see a description of the Ongoing Issue.

In the "Status Update" box you'll see some requested info. The team working on fixing this issue requires this particular info from all affected users in order to find a solution.

Cheers 🙂

I am experiencing the exact same 2-year old issue as described by user @adamsandler5734, with the exception that my software versions are Windows 10 Pro 21H1, Spotify for Windows 1.1.91.824.g07f1e963.

Problem description, as quoted from @adamsandler5734:

"Searching is completely useless, and double tapping songs/pressing the play button to start the new songs I just searched for pauses playback completely and even returns the play bar to its default state (eg. with no song names, no album covers, etc). If I however go into the artist then their album, the song plays. It also works flawlessly from my own playlists."

Please hire me, I will fix the problem for you then quit. I'm tired of restarting and uninstalling Spotify just for the glitch to come back in a hour.

This problem still exists. Seriously stop asking people for information on the problem, it's happening on multiple platforms, this is not device specific. We're 2+ years in on this thread and nothing has been fixed. As a developer I know it's very difficult to debug something you can't replicate but you've been given device info, videos, etc... repeatedly from numerous people. Having to add a song to a playlist just to play it is absurd. DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!

this also happens on my Windos 10 computer, did work a week ago. Did clean reinstall (clearing cache) several times. i can't play songs ive searched on the searchbar. But on my Android device (same account) it  works.
If I log into a different account on my PC it still doesnt work. I can play songs in playlists even songs i didnt download or never heard before, its just the search option/ main page that wont play songs.

Just ran into this exact issue today. No issues with my account as I can search and play songs with no problem on my Android phone. But on my desktop, I can't. If I create a playlist with what I've searched, it works. But I can't listen to a song straight from search. It worked fine a few weeks ago. I don't want to have to make a playlist just to listen to a single song I searched for...

Same issue here:

- Restarted (windows) App

- Restarted device

- No updates for windows

- Spotify Test accounts same issue's

- Loginin spotify on collegue's device = no issue

- updated to latest version of Spotify = no sollution

- Add song to playlist or favorites and everything works..

It's the **bleep** search when songs wont play ...

Whenever I search up a song I want to listen to on the Desktop app (I'm on Windows 10) I can't play the top results, artists or songs etc.
I have tried suggestions directed at songs not playing (restarting PC, Spotify, resetting firewall and network settings and reinstalling the app) which all haven't worked. Any playlists (including those searched) work however, but I can't listen to song radios or anything like that, which I've relied upon before.

Any ideas on what else I should do to resolve this?

Same thing it happening for me on Windows. I can't play songs from search. Adding them to favourites or a playlist makes them playable from there. I am not using a VPN.
