Multiple car infotainment systems not loading playlists

We're getting reports from users that playlists aren’t loading on their car infotainment systems.

21 Traverse RS. I'm having the same issue with songs not playing on the Spotify app on the infotainment center. When I use the Spotify app on the vehicle nothing plays when I select my playlist. I noticed if I shut my Bluetooth off, none of the playlists show up on the app on the vehicle. When I turned Bluetooth back on, all of the playlists and information reappeared on the app on the vehicle. I think it's odd because the app on the vehicle is a standalone app and does not require the use of your cell phone. I have internet, unlimited data, Wi-Fi hotspot and all the bells and whistles on my onstar account. Other apps work perfectly fine on the vehicle except for the Spotify app.

I've shared a video and photos before, doesn't matter if I have a phone connected or not, I can brows all my playlists and see recommendations in the native app of the infotainment system but cannot play anything.

When I try to stream Spotify through the infotainment system in my Mazda CX-5, the app immediately crashes. This has only been happening for the past 24 hours or so.

My 2020 Silverado doing the same thing. Uninstalled, paired, signed in and nothing. Click on the Playlist and it does turn green but nothing. Works with Bluetooth and android auto when plugged in. Frustrating!

I spoke to onstar about a week ago and they are aware of the issue and working on the fix.

they stated it’s an issue within their side.  They instructed me to wait until they contact me when the issue is resolved and would provide compensation.

I am having the same issue in my 2020 Chevrolet Equinox. I have done all the same steps and nothing has helped.

The same thing is happening in my 2018 Cadillac ATS as of 11/19/2025. I just had it serviced at the dealership so I thought maybe they did something to it. Glad I found this discussion. I have a 2020 Cadillac XT4 I will test it tomorrow to see if the same issue. Let's just hope GM doesn't obsolete the Spotify app like they did to The Weather Channel.

As today Friday Nov 21 2025. In Dash app in my 2024 Escalade is still not working. The app opened but cannot play any song/playlist.

This issue seems to appear to me only with downloaded playlists with >94 songs. VW Polo
