Podcast episodes showing as unplayed

Hey, 

 

We're seeing reports that finished podcast episodes are showing as unplayed.

Great news - everything should be working as expected now! Just make sure that your app is updated to the latest version.

I am also having this problem. Windows 11, everything is showing not played both on desktop app and web app. Smartphone seems to be ok. So frustrating

Hi my complete history of listened to in podcasts is gone. It makes no difference if I use my MacBook, iPhone or iPad.

I have Premium in germany

Mark as finished on podcasts does not persist from day to day. Seen on desktop and iOS.

Happening for me too on Mac Desktop, but not on my Pixel phone.

 

  • Your device's make & model: Macbook Pro 2019
  • Its OS version: 15.3.2
  • Your Spotify: Spotify for macOS (Intel) 1.2.60.564.gcc6305cb
  • If the issue persists across multiple platforms (Web Player, desktop app, mobile app etc.): Mac only has the issue. Phone is fine
  • The affected podcasts: ALL

I also just uninstalled the app, cleared the Application Support data, and reinstalled the app clean and the issue still happens.

But it's not an option on PC and doesn't sync with your App where have already marked episodes as finished.

It was working fine about a week ago, now I've got the same problem:

  • Your device's make & model: Desktop PC
  • Its OS version: Windows 10 (22H2)
  • Your Spotify app version: 1.2.60.564.gcc6305cb
  • The affected podcasts: All of them
  • If the issue persists across multiple platforms (Web Player, desktop app, mobile app etc.): No, it's still working fine on my Android 14 phone

I already uninstalled the app (through Windows' "apps") and reinstalled it through the Windows store but that didn't help.

I'm having the same issue on desktop and my iOS Apple phone. I've marked things as played as well and the following day when I go to look everything is marked unplayed again.
