’Repeat All’ turns itself on

I’m a Premium member, in the US, on an iPhone 8 with iOS 12.  I’m having an issue where the “Repeat All” function continually resets to on.  This used to happen just when I opened the app anew, so I for some time just left Spotify always open and that prevented “Repeat All” from turning back on; however, for the last month or two, “Repeat All” turns on even if I just minimize the app, often several times a day.  There was a Community Post on this same issue (from DanHazard, which is now closed) where the Tech person recommended restarting the iPhone, but this has not helped.  I am an album-listener (as in, not a radio- or playlist-listener) and I absolutely hate that the albums keep repeating!  For one thing, I often switch to a completely different genre for my next choice; hearing the same one restart kinda makes me hate the album.... I get sick of the same one!  Since I listen all day at work (I build houses), it is often very difficult for me to stop what I am doing to change the music, so I am stuck with the repeating album for a while. I also use a song or album’s length as a gauge of how long a task is taking me (in construction, many quick tasks FEEL like they take forever and you feel you are wasting time when you are not; conversely, it’s easy to get lost in complicated tasks and end up spending more time than you wanted), so the Repeat ruins that, too. 

To make matters worse, the last update just moved the button to turn Repeat off into a submenu of the Now Playing screen, making it even harder for me keep an eye on that pesky little Repeat!

Now I have a new Audi and with me the problem is over. So it's definitely not a problem of Spotify.

This is still an issue. Shuffle + repeat all randomly turns itself on even if I have turned it off in all my clients.

Similar issue on my Mac (Spotify version 1.1.44.538.g8057de92). I turned off Repeat, selected a song from the Discovery section and found the song still repeating 20 minutes later.

The song is still playing. If I uncheck Repeat (either through the menu, or the confusing green button) it just turns itself back on (in under a second). 

Hmm... shuffle does the same thing - I can't turn that off either.

Important: I was connected to my Denon Receiver via a Spotify Connect. When I disconnected and used my local Macbook speakers I was able to turn off Repeat and Shuffle.

After reconnecting to my Denon (with Repeat off before connecting) the feature remained off. However, when I turned it on, I was no longer able to turn it off again.

I have just had my work phone upgraded and this issue has been happening. Done a few tests and it’s defo the Bluetooth connection/cable connecting as with headphones in shuffling the repeat all doesn’t come on. Soon as I plug it in to my work van, the shuffle goes off and repeat all comes on. Super frustrating. My personal phone is a Samsung S20 and it never does this.

That was back in Feb of 2019. There have been a couple of updates since then and still no fix for the “Repeat All” automatically turning itself on. Now it seems to do this soon after you turn it off as well. This is so annoying as a premium member!

I complained about this back in 2018.  When are we gonna get a fix?  I have thought about terminating my Premium Membership on more than one occasion b/c of the “Repeat All” issue and subscribe to Appletunes.  I really enjoy Spotify but I am so fed up with this most annoying issue that if it isn’t fixed soon I may just terminate my Membership along w my entire house hold.

It’s super annoying that repeat all turns itself on automatically. Spotify, please give us an option to turn this off in preferences. I listen to full albums, often from artists I’m just discovering, and I want to experience their art the way they intended it. A dramatic ending can lose its impact when it goes straight into an introduction again. Frequently, it loops automatically and I’m in the second song in the album before I realize what has happened. Loop repeat should not be on globally on albums by default!!!!

Repeat All turns itself on when i connect to Apple CarPlay.

I listen to albums rather than playlists, so it's infuriating when an album ends it just begins again...  I have to turn repeat off everytime i get out of my car.

After searching around on the internet, this has been an issue for years.. please please fix!
