Transitions don't play correctly

We've been getting reports that the transitions between songs are not being timed correctly the first time you start a playlist. When restarted, the transitions work as expected.

I'm having the same issue when I use the "Mix" feature transitions. I'm experiencing delays, and sometimes the "Mix" transition doesn't even work at all.

I have to restart the song for the Mix transition to work properly again.

This happens whether I'm using the Android or PC version of Spotify, and whether I'm using a Bluetooth speaker or not. Both apps are also updated to the latest versions of Spotify. I've tried refreshing, clearing the cache, and reinstalling the app itself, but the issue still occurs in all scenarios.

My Question or Issue

Hello, after some time of using the new automix feature and customizing my own transitions, I've noticed a few issues. I'm aware that this feature is still in beta so issues are to be expected, but I just wanted to put this out there so that the issues are known (not sure if the developers will see this though). My main issue with the feature is that the transitions are not being played properly, to various degrees. Sometimes, it plays the first song until the end of the transition point and then continues with the transition starting point of the second song after the first song cuts off, so the two songs never actually overlap. Sometimes, there is a half-second to a second of delay in the customized transition, so the second song starts playing too late, and results in a weird and unpleasant transition. Often, the issue can be resolved if I go into the transition having issues and press save again. But by the next time I listen to the transition, it could be bugging again. Also, I've noticed that this issue only happens with specific transitions while other transitions occur almost perfectly every time.

I also have this issue currently. It plays through the entire first song and then messes up the transitions for the following songs. On second try it works.

Our folks backstage have located the issue. A fix has been made for it and it will come in 9.1.2.
