My Question or Issue

For around a week now, whenever I try to repeat songs on my LG tv, after the current one finishes and should inherently start playing again, I am taken to the Account Selection screen of the app. 

This happens on both casting from phone/desktop, or when using solely the Tv's app. 

 

Set-up: LG tv + JBL soundbar + wi-fi connection

 

Steps tried:

  • disconnecting the soundbar completely
  • connecting the soundbar with both HDMI arc AND bluetooth
  • different internet connection (wired and phone's hotspot)
  • combinations of the above steps, e.g. no soundbar+hotspot/wired etc.
  • tv powercycle (3min+ unplugged from power)
  • tv reset to factory settings
  • uninstalling Spotify app
  • removing and readding Spotify account

The issue first occurred around a week ago, when the app's interface changed to something that resembles a 2020 app ('fancy' artist cover background, up next info etc.). I would, however, prefer having the rather basic interface from before, that actually worked as intended.

 

Have checked for updates for both the Spotify app and the Tv's firmware, everything's up-to-date.

 

Could you please advise?

Thank you for your post and for providing the troubleshooting steps you've taken.

 

Can you record a video of the issue that showcases what happens from the start (when you choose repeat) until the end. This will help us understand more directly what's going on from your end.
