30 mins ad free not working

My Question or Issue

The 30 min free ads isn't working for me (and it never has). I watch the video in full, I never skip out of the app, I never accidentally press "no thanks" and the longest I get is 2 songs, or on a good run maybe 10 mins, between ads. The ads then go for 3 ads of 30 seconds each every 10 minutes.

 

I've trawled through the posts where other users have the same issues, please help me resolve it.

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

 

After you've watched the video ad keeping it in focus the whole time, you should make sure to keep the app open and continue listening to music. Once the music stops or you exit the app, the timer might reset and you'll be hearing ads again.

I’m having the same issue. Should I create a new post? Is this being looked at? It doesn’t seem to be an uncommon issue.

I can confirm. I tapped the ad, apparently got three ads in a row, no confirmation message, and I never left the app. Not even so far as to swipe down to check notifications or anything. Ten minutes later, another ad. This isn't the first time, I'm just fed up enough to actually send a report. Which I can only do here?

  • Country of your Account
  • Device make, model, OS version
  • Spotify version
  • What was the add about? Was it visual or audio.
  • Time and date of when you last received the ad.

Sorry, that isn't working. I never touch it the app after watching the ad. I still end up with endless ads.

Try logging out, restarting your device, and logging back in. If this behavior persists, it's worth running a clean reinstall of the app by following these steps. This can be helpful to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.

 

If that didn't make any difference either, could you try logging in to a different device to see how it goes? Also, try using a different connection, like mobile data or a different WiFi network.

I having the exact same experience. I am in Canada and I use Spotify on an IPAD. I have tried all the suggestions including a clean install, different WiFi network and watching all the ad without closing the app, nothing seems to work - is there anything else I can try?

My account country is Canada

I am using an IPAD mini 5th Generation IPADOS 14.7.1

The last ad I had  was from Telus and I cannot tell if it was a video or audio as I was not looking at my device

I just received at 8 am Pacific Standard time
