Add Folders for playlists

Dear my beloved Spotify, 

        I have an idea for quite an amazing idea for your amazing streaming service to have a new update. Among me and my many friends we have all agreed this is an amazing idea since it call all help us in some way. Here is my idea: "Spotify should add a feature that you can put playlists in like folders because if you have playlists that are similar or like you do a bunch for one thing you can put them all together."

       How this can help someone like me is I have many playlists of just song from one artist as that's one of my top artists so I could find certain artists a lot easier. For one of my friends they've made a munch of playlists for different characters and putting all those together would be easy for them to find certain playlists. Another friend has a bunch of playlists for different feelings so if she could just put them into folders that would be so much easier for her.

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome. 

We hope you don't mind us moving your post out of the ideas section to one of our Help boards as it fits better here.

That being said, we're glad to let you know that it's already possible to create folders for your playlists within the app. You can read all about it in this article.

Keep in mind you need to use the desktop app or web player to make playlist folders, but they show on all devices. Take into account, you can also create the folders by right-clicking on the left panel visible on the desktop app/web player (your library).

I have a ton of playlist and it gets hard to look through sometimes. it's not a crazy concept it's about organizing more than anything. they could be almost like the genre buttons on the search screen that u click then shows you a bunch of playlist. for example right now i have 3 playlists in spanish different kinds of music and i would like to keep them separate, if i could just create a folder "Spanish Music" and move them in there that would solve my only problem with spotify. 

double points if you could add not only your own playlists to your folders.

I have made so many playlists over the years (no I will not delete them) and it’s so overwhelming trying to find what i’m looking for. Maybe add playlist folders to help organise ourselves!

e.g. you could make a folder for all your favourite artist playlists, or a folder to keep all your kpop playlists together etc

Playlist Folders - A feature that lets you put playlists into sections. For example, based on mood like sad music, based on genre, or based on artist!

Similar to how Pinterest functions. I would like to see Spotify allow us to create albums where we can organize more than one playlist into a specific category/section. I am a fitness instructor and have sooo many playlists for classes I teach and would like to be able to organize them based on which classes they all go to and so I can see my actual playlists for when I don't teach. I get lost in all the playlists and can never find the one I am looking for because there are so many. Would love to see this!@
