My Question or Issue

Started 2 days ago. Open Spotify it automatically starts playing (used to have to pick a song). No big deal. The issue is if I minimize the app on my phone (to use another app for example) it stops playing. Never been an issue before. Also, if I keep Spotify open and playing, if I lock my phone, it stops playing. I must keep my screen on and Spotify active in order to play.

Hey @iam-thaking, thanks for asking in the Community! 🎵

This could be related to how OneUI handles background services and apps. Could you try the following steps:

  1. Open settings.
  2. Go to Apps.
  3. Click Spotify.
  4. Check the permissions under battery or memory. Enable background option if disabled.
  5. Disable any low power or battery saver mode if enabled.
  6. See if that makes any difference.

Let me know how it goes. 🙂

Thanks for the suggestion, Amay. It was set to Optimized as it has been from day 1. However, I tried your suggestion and changed it to Unrestricted (for background usage). Same thing occurs - autoplays when it opens (not a big deal, just one of the changes I've noticed), stops playing when minimized, or when the screen is locked.

Thanks for the reply @iam-thaking. Could you try checking if there is any pending software update on your device? Also, check in the play store if the Spotify app has any pending updates.

You can also share a screen recording of the issue here that will help me take a closer look at the problem.

All is updated correctly. I was doing a screen recording when I noticed something - so I took a deeper dive. I didn't have a routine setup for Spotify but I did have a Mode that utilized Spotify. A minor adjustment to this Mode fixed the issue. Thanks for your assistance.
