Adding categories to your podcast

I have a podcast on Spotify (The Watch Your Mouth Podcast) and it currently only shows up under one category. How can I add other categories? I have noticed many podcasts are listed in more than one category.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. We moved your post from Chats to the help boards as its content fits better here.

To add a Podcast category, you'll need to head below your podcast's description. There, you'll now see your podcast's categories listed.

When you submit your show to Spotify through Spotify for Podcasters, you can choose up to three categories for your podcast in the <itunes:categories> field in your RSS feed. In case you’re using a hosting service, you’ll need to edit the categories from there.

Hello Oscar,

We have our RSS feed updated through our host RedCircle to include a couple more categories. However, after the update, it only shows the primary category. Can you please advise what we can do? We would want to get listed on a few more related categories.

In this case, the best course of action would be to directly ask the Spotify for Podcasters support folks 🙂

Hey Oscar, I have the same question as above - I'd like to add additional categories to my podcast. When I'm logged into Spotify for Podcasters > Update Podcast Settings > Podcast category - I can only select one from the dropdown. Could you explain how to get to the <itunes:categories> field in the RSS feed as I can't seem to find this?

This is a patently WRONG answer. You can only select ONE category.

I'm having the same issue.
