I am having the same problem. I have 3 Alexa's in my classroom. 1 Echo show & 2 echo Pops. I have the same problem as others I talk to the Alexa and it says "Class 2 playlist on Spotify" and then silence. I've tried all the above steps and nothing. And I'm paying for Spotify premium so if this could get fixed asap. I love spotify I'd hate to get rid of it.
Hey folks,
Thanks for the reports.
If you're experiencing this issue, make sure to send the info that @AlejaR previously requested. This way we can forward your reports to the relevant teams.
We'll be on the lookout.
It’s still not working!! How is that even possible? It’s only podcasts.
2024…still cannot link Spotify with Alexa.
Any progress on having this resolved?
My Echo Show stopped working yesterday, in the middle of a podcast and hasn't worked since...
The exact make/model and OS of the speakers in which you noticed this behavior - Echo Show
Does this happen when the playback comes from a different device? Does it happen only when trying to play music on the speakers? - No, just this speaker
Did you notice if this started to happen after a specific event, such as an OS update? If yes, please send us the details - no
The exact Spotify version you're running on the device which is linked to the speaker (check for possible updates there) no recent update but version is 8.9.8.545. No update available either
Does it happen when connected to a different internet connection, e.g., a hotspot? Unable to try.
The exact troubleshooting steps you've tried so far. Factory reset speaker, checked for updates. Disable and enable Spotify skill
A video recording of this behavior. You can attach the videos in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload them to YouTube or Google Drive and make them public, so we can visualize them - https://youtube.com/shorts/1genD2OJY4M?si=g2YFD7907R-rpcmM
Note, the speaker plays the radio fine, and plays Spotify when streaming via BT from my phone but simply refuses to play via the speaker direct. It stopped while I was listening to it.
I have the same issue. The app keeps shutting down. Or doesnt let me play Spotify
I have this problem as well. When I request a channel via voice prompt, alexa acknowledges it, but no audio comes out. If I ask alexa what is playing it gives a song name. The interesting thing is if I stop it via voice, go into the alexa app on my phone, then click play on the last spotify request button, the audio will start playing correctly. So it seems as though it is an issue playing the audio when playing is requested via voice prompt.
Had the same problem. I had to connect to the echo dot from Spotify also. Worked for me
Hey @JackDaniels1899, @MeOlga, @reemaworkmail, @johnsom, @Fcp2025,
Thanks for all the info you've sent so far.
Could you let us know if you're still experiencing this? If so, make sure to send us the info we're asking for in the Top Answer of this thread so we can pass it on to the right team to keep investigating.
We'll be waiting for your replies.
It seems to work for me for some times now. I have re-linked Spotify a few times.
Stable since ~1 week.
How is this still a problem? And if it is, you people need to stop allowing amazon to say that you can play Spotify through Alexa. I bought this very excited for my son to use it and he was very disappointed that it doesn't work. I have tried all the things in this thread. One network, apps updated, deleted, removed, cached, patted my head while rubbing my stomach in reverse. Fix.this garbage already.
Hey @dani-p,
Apologies for the late reply here 🙂
Could you let us know if the issue persists on the mobile app or the desktop app only?
For instructions on how to set up Alexa & Spotify, this support article may also be of help.
We'll be on the lookout.
Spotify are you guys kidding? I suddenly decided I was going to try fix this issue after Spotify hasn’t worked on Alexa for sometime . I have tried all the fixes and nothing has worked. I’m in NZ . Then I message my brother in Australia and he has the same issue. This is obviously a huge problem. I’m now looking up prices of Amazon music.
Hey everyone!
We have gone over this thread and summarized all the different issues that we have seen reported here. The main one which seems to be discussed is that Alexa won't play playlist with voice command. Quite a few users report solving this with a few troubleshooting steps like:
Another issue we have spotted is that when using the Connect feature users cannot see their Alexa devices. For this we would also recommend checking the Spotify skill and the network connection. Your router may support 2 different channels for the same network (2.4 Ghz or 5.0 Ghz). You should check if both devices are connected to the same exact channel.
Something else you can try is altering your DNS settings by following the steps here.
Some users in here are also reporting that the app keeps shutting down. In that case we'd recommend making sure both the Spotify and Alexa apps are up-to-date and that you clear cache for both.
With this said, we'll be locking this thread. If you're still experiencing issues, please try the steps above. If none of that helps, you can also create a new thread, where you let us know your exact behavior and the troubleshooting steps you've tried.
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
