Chromebook Chromecast audio

Is the Chromebook / Chrome OS app compatible with Chromecast Audio? I can't seem to get it to cast to speakers connected to a chromecast audio

Hey sliceofportion!

It looks like the app is just a shortcut to the actual Spotify Web Player. The web player itself doesn't have the ability to cast, but we can still work with it ;^)

You'll want to install the chromecast extension onto your chromebook through the chrome web store:

from there you'll get a neat little icon in the top right. Go ahead and click on the spotify app, play a song, and then click on that new chromecast icon and cast it to a device.

Pro tip: this works with any tab and isn't limited to Spotify!

Thanks, so it turns out you can't cast if you open an app in a window and try and use the cast option bottom right, you have to open it as a chrome tab instead.
