Just purchased a new Denon receiver and everything is working OK except Spotify connect, it doesn't show as a device on the connect page. I can stream everything via AirPlay OK, but connect doesn't show. They are both running on the same network, but I wonder if there are any settings I need to consider for spotify specifically. I have tried searching the forums but haven't come up with anything so far. If anyone could point me in the direction of some help it would be much appreciated!

Hi,
what Spotify Client are you guys using? I had the same problem some months ago. Then all of the sudden, is disappeared. Since I did no changes to the Denon, I can only make a connection to the Spotifiy Client which was updated shortly before Connect started working with the Denon. My version number is 1.0.11.134.ga37df67b, the *.exe is dateing 08/12/2015. I had a lengthy discussion with Spotify support about the issue, but beside sympathetic words they had no idea. I even offered them wireshark traces of the unsuccessful connects to forward them to the developers, but they did not accept my offer.
I think the main problem here is that the Denon does interpret the connect trigger send from the client incorrectly. Even before the issue went away in my environment (I would not say it is SOLVED, it just disappeared!), I sometimes could connect to the Denon after several tries from different devices (one PC Client, two Android tablets). Once the Denon took over the connection and established the stream, everything worked fine, I could control the music played on the AVR from the clients just as designed. But once the connection was lost again (because I switched of the AVR or it went into Auto Off), the problem came back. It made no difference if the AVR was on or off during the connect try, if it was on WLAN or LAN, if it was set on online music or any other input device. THus my conclusion that the client command that should trigger the takeover of the Spotify connection on the AVR was not working properly.
kind regards, Christian
My Denon AVR-X4100W has also stopped working. It streams the music 2-3 seconds and then it tries to reassign the network. When switching over from SPotify on Android devices /PC the track time displayed on the Denon is incorrect it starts from 0 regardless how far in the track I am. This is more of an observation... the real problem is that it stops playing after a few seconds. This problem just apeared yesterday. I have tried a factory reset and so on, firmware update... nothing works. Internet radio is working flawlessly on the Denon.
+1 same issue with Denon AVR-X2100W. Since today Spotify Connect plays songs only couple seconds and then loses the connection.
Same problem with X2200W started today. All other network connections like internet radio and android remote to the receiver stops when spotify stops playing. You need to restart the receiver or network connection to get those other connections work again.
Same here. Rarely, I can play one full song. But most of the times, I only get a few seconds and then all network connections from the receiver are dead. Denon X1100W.
There were no updates to the receiver firmware, or my Spotify clients, recently. Therefore, is it somehow caused by Spotify servers?
Can confirm it stopped working on my X2100W today i rarely play 5 seconds until it stops working and the network of the AV restarts.
Edit: After digging a bit i found out that 68.232.34.151 and 194.132.197.131 (both are spotify related servers) reset the connection and throws the receiver into said state
Same here, the device is a marantz 1605, but its hardware and software should be the same as the denons, both d&m holding..
Music starts, after 2 seconds the connection brokes and the avr connecting again to the network.
Hopefuly its gona be fixed soon, i just switched from a pioneer netzwork player to the marantz avr to build up a home cinema.
One reson for the marantz was the spotify connect integration....
Same problem here on my Denon DNP-730AE. Everything works fine like internet radio. When I go to Spotify connect the systems freezes and needs a compleet reset to start functioning again....
Denon AVR-x2100W and I report the exact same problem, since last night. It plays for 1-2 seconds and then it starts to re assign the network etc.
Same problem here, Denon AVR-S900W
really putting a wrench into my day...
Using Marantz SR5009 - same problem!
The same here... had no problem 2 days ago... any solutions?
