Just purchased a new Denon receiver and everything is working OK except Spotify connect, it doesn't show as a device on the connect page. I can stream everything via AirPlay OK, but connect doesn't show. They are both running on the same network, but I wonder if there are any settings I need to consider for spotify specifically. I have tried searching the forums but haven't come up with anything so far. If anyone could point me in the direction of some help it would be much appreciated!
Solved! Go to Solution.
Tried the Lianna La Havas album trick but that does not make any difference for me.
2 secconds into Unstoppable the receiver reconnects to the network
Ok. Just tested a bit.
It seems, that only special songs causes the Receiver to crash. It is possible to retest it:
Lot of songs are playing well and some causes a crash.
Please try to verify....
I for example testet it as the following:
1. Play Song: Dream Theater - Panic Attack
2. Connect to Receiver
3. Everything is ok
4. Change Song to: The Weeknd - Can't feel my face -> ok
5. Back to Dream Theater Song: Burning my soul ---> ok
6: Try to play song: Dream Theater - False Awakening Suite --> CRASH
Please try this and find sone other songs ...Maybe it helps to verify....
I have tested the following songs:
Pyramids - Noonie Bao
Terrence Loves You - Lana Del Rey
9 Shots - 50 Cent
Willing & Able - Disclosure
Nearly forgot m broken heart - Chris Cornell
I'm your man - Bon Jovi
Sweet Child o` Mine - Guns`n`Roses
Patience - Guns`n`Roses
Do it again - Röyksopp
Melancholia - Eva & Manu
Empty - Eva & Manu
False awakening suite - Dream Theater
Enigma Machine - Dream Theater
All this songs played ok.
Note: I have done a change to my routersettings - opened port 4070. (I don't know if this have any effect)

I really hope the problem is solved.
I sent the following message to the Spotify support:
"Hey, the problem with Spotify Connect is solved now? I have played several songs and playlists without problems the last 20 minutes. I really want a feedback if/when the problem is officially solved."

10:30am Pacific Time on Thursday 27th of August in Canada. Eh
Spotify Connect is working for 30 minutes now
non-stop no errors from iPad Air -- > Denon AVR S900W
I'll hope for the best...
PS: Note about my network. My Denon is hardwired to the router...AND its got a static IP with Google DNS.
They won't stop working to find a solution just because 1 person sent a message.
I was just asking for a message with info when the problem is solved.
No worries. 🙂

Seems to be finally working fine now.. based in Singapore (Marantz SR5009)
Able to skip tracks and albums etc - room is music filled once again!
I shuffled through about 30 songs without issue... but then it failed again... Maybe they are updating all the contentservers now and they are not all updated yet. But it looks promissing...
It is working here too with AVR-X1100W.
Good to see they finally fixed it, let's hope it stays this way.
Unfortunatly, the problem isn't solved for me. I just tried to play a song which played during 2 seconds and stopped because my X2100W lost the connection.
is working in France Denon X2100 enjoy.
At this moment spotify just works fine on Marantz SR6009, The Netherlands. No more freeze after 2 seconds, no problems when changing to another song..Hope it stays this way...
