Is there a way to only hear child friendly ads?

Even when I have explicit content turned off, the commercials can still be inappropriate to play at school or in front of kids.

Thanks for reaching out. The explicit filter applies to content only and doesn't have an influence on ads. As you need to meet the minimum age requirements for your specific country to have a full Spotify account, ads do not need to be child friendly necessarily. If you would like such functionality, consider voting on this idea.

Go to your profile Edit profile - Spotify

Then change your gender to "prefer to not say" (required).

Then change your age to 13 years old. (optional)

Then go into the app and turn on explicit filter (required).

Turn off  Tailored ads and turn off Facebook..

For me this removed condom commercials
