I'm using SPOTIFY (4.3.3.0) installed in my car Volvo XC60.
Once selecting the library I try to browse the playlists but i get the message:
"no media available for browsing here ".
Indeed I have at least 20 different playlist that i can reach by Desktop and Phone. Just the App installed in the car cannot browse the Playlists in my library

Mine is also doing this but only with 1 playlist “Daily Drive”, I’ve reset the cache and reinstalled the app but it still won’t load the daily drive playlist (which is doubly frustrating when you consider that it’s the one I MOST want to listen to in the CAR)
What update are you referring to here?
Really poor, bmw charges a lot of money (Connected package / data volume), Spoitify wants money every month, nothing works properly. Brave new world. Sometimes no library available in Spotify for 2 weeks (just the case for me again), then there are phases where you have to log in again every 3-5 days.
I'm most annoyed with myself that I'm apparently incapable of simply downloading music onto a stick instead of wasting my actually valuable time with research, resets, updates and pointless forum posts.
I've had the same problem in my BMW i4 for two days. The library is not available. Logging in again and resetting the iDrive system didn't help. Until yesterday, at least the start screen was fine, but since this morning it only shows unpersonalized playlists.
Anything news her….? I had the same issue yesterday…..
I have the same problem since about two days... G21 2024
I have exactly the same problem. Exactly like in 2023, it wasn't BMW's fault then either - and just like then, Spotify seems to be ignoring us. If things go well, they'll fix it in a few weeks. Absolutely annoying.
This issue started in my Dutch 218iGC two days ago. No library in spotify app. Can play 'recently played' songs though.
hey Vasil, (or, to the person who is currently responsible for this thread here)
since the problem seems to have been around for a while (~ 1.5 years / in this case at least), I wanted to ask if you (Spotify) were able to achieve anything with BMW?
Since your reply, unfortunately, there has been nothing more from your side...
I don't think the “community” can or even should clarify the apparent problems between BMW and Spotify. It can always happen that an app like Spotify doesn't work properly, the subscription price seems too low for that or there is simply too little advertising without a subscription ( haha ), but then just say that it doesn't work and you simply don't know why and don't have the possibility to solve the problem. Pro-active, honest communication and everyone knows where you stand and nobody is still waiting for an answer/solution.
I'm sorry, but I have no understanding for an answer like this and then nothing comes for 1.5 years... (or I've missed something, then sorry.)
For me as a simple user, it's your app that doesn't work. No more responsibility ping-pong please. The problem has existed for too long for that.
For me, the problem is new and first appeared four days ago. Before that, my BMW Spotify app worked without any problems. Looking for a solution (BMW pushes it to Spotify, Spotify pushes it to BMW) I came across this old forum post.
Same problem, Spotify wrote to me that the problem is because from July 1st BMW will no longer have the Spotify APP in BMW Connected Drive, here is what they wrote to me:
Hi,
This is a follow up to the conversation you had with my colleagues earlier. My name is Teodora and I am part of the Escalations team here at Spotify. My colleagues and I will be taking care of your case from here on out.
I understand that your library is empty on your BMW Connected Drive and I will be happy to address this issue.
Looking behind the scenes, the Spotify app on BMW will be discontinued from July 1st, which would explain the issues you are experiencing. I know this may not be the news you were hoping for. However, you can still listen to your favorite audio on Spotify via Bluetooth or, if available, Apple CarPlay. Options may vary depending on the vehicle, to learn more about listening in the car, visit this link.
I hope this information was helpful. Let me know if there is Anything else we can help with.
Good day,
Teodora

I reply this:
Good morning Teodora,
Thanks for the information,
I learned from your reply that from July 1st the Spotify App on BMW will be discontinued, but I would like to point out the following:
- Other BMW Connected Drive users do not have my problem of the empty Library, I attach 2 screenshots where you can see the App version and my problem,
so I am a rare case, and the fact that from July 1st Spotify will no longer be there I do not think is related to my problem,
- Two days ago after a 30 second Volume button Reset and subsequent 30 minute car standby, the Library reappeared and then disappeared again after about 3 hours, so if it appeared once it means that the problem could be solved,
Please, in my opinion the problem concerns the synchronization of the BMW Connected drive Library, about a week ago I had deleted and recreated the same account name on BMW id, probably we should check if there is any data or some connection with my old BMW Account, and see if it is possible to perform a Reset, this should be done in your databases,
these are just suggestions on how to proceed, only you who are part of the Technical Team could check and investigate the problem,
I thank you in advance, waiting for your kind feedback,
Thank you
Anyway, the music quality is the best using eSIM BMW (Spotify) instead any other APP, for example Apple Music that use Bluetooth, this is the real matter, otherwise I'd change provider, obviously .....
Same problem since two days, strange is I can still see and play recently played . Disappointing response from Spotify
Another answer from Spotify, unbelievable ....
Hi Emiliano,
Hello for the follow-up!
Kevin here on behalf of the Escalations Team.
As a heads up, the BMW mobile integration of the app is being phased out gradually. This may be why other users are still having the functionality.
We are afraid that we won't be able to do anything due to system limitations. Don't worry, we will be sure to pass your feedback along to the team.
For now, we recommend checking out https://support.spotify.com/article/spotify-in-the-car/ for the various ways you can continue listening to the app in your vehicle.
If we can help you with Anything else, we'll be here.
Hoping for your kind understanding,
Kevin

I’m not sure, I understand this…..
Has BMW decided to withdraw the Spotify integration? Or have Spotify taken this position not to support BMW’s any more?
Experienced same, BMW native app, OS 8.5, no content in Spotify library. Resolved by clearing the cache in the Spotify app on my phone. Suddenly the library content was visible in the car this morning.
Same problem - but yesterday the library was suddenly back….😊. Now I just wait for the problem to be solved in one of the apps - spotify or BMW - so the issue will not revert in the future.
Hey, I contacted BMW about the problem and two days ago I got a call from customer support saying that everything was working again. Wonderful.
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
