Missing Stories (Movie / Aura / Podcast) from 2021 Wrapped

Hi everyone,

We know some of you are wondering why you don't have the same Wrapped stories as your friends. We've seen the Movie, Aura and Podcast stories mentioned specifically.

In order to create the different stories, specific requirements need to be fulfilled, so depending on the different listening habits, some stories might not be available to everyone. For the most part, everyone will have the same experience, but there are some stories you may not have enough stats to get - for example if you’ve not listened to any podcasts you won’t get a top podcast.

Tallying up counts for your stats is mostly fairly straightforward, so that is why nearly everyone should have those slides. However, creating your Movie Soundtrack and Auras is a bit more tricky than just that and dependent on multiple factors, which is why they might be unavailable.

We're mixing things up every year with Wrapped though, so we hope you get a new and interesting experience next year. The more music you listen to, the easier it will be to create your stories.

i also don't have either of these slides

i'm on android 9, have 4,486 minutes of total playtime, listened to 14 different genres and 191 artists (idk if that's important but everyone's doing this so i might as well do it too

it just seems that Spotify is stripping away features for no reason. that's something they already did by completely removing the shuffle button from albums

like, c'mon, i'm paying for this service and am getting less and less features

same issue here, no movie slide. plenty of listening hours/artists/genres/repeats. super disappointed as this seemed like the most fun slide in my friends' wrapped.

My Question or Issue

I have seen that some friends have the 2021 movie soundtrack in their Spotify Wrapped stories, but I didn't get that one. They said they see it on the 2nd story, but my 2nd story is about my total listening duration.

I updated Spotify and my phone's OS is also up-to-date. What would be the reason it is not showing up for me? I also don't have the podcast-related stories, but that makes sense as I don't listen to podcasts on Spotify.

I am having the exact same issue! I’m iphone but still… totally up to date ios and spotify app but those two parts of my wrapped are missing. Super annoying but I’m sure they’ll work out the kinks since it’s def happening to some people. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you if you’ll keep your’s crossed for me 😉

when i first checked wrapped up stories, my aura was there. i am pretty sure of it, because i had to pause the story to understand what it was. after a while, i wanted to share it, but now it is gone. the worst part is, i don't even remember what my aura was. 🙂

It's a pity that I don't have the aura in my review. 😔 It would have been interesting to me. I listened to 1,970 artists, 105 music genres and heard 32,000 minutes of music. Shouldn't that be enough? Or what other factors play a role in the aura? Well, maybe it will work out next year.

Same issue, no audio aura with nearly 40,000 minutes of music playtime on a premium account. Very disappointing. Would have been better to not include it for anyone so as not to upset all the people that didn't get movie/aura.

My Question or Issue

Cannot see Spotify aura in Wrapped 2021. The rest of the tabs are there, just not that one. Deleted and reinstalled the app, same issue. Cried a bit as all my friends can see theirs, only I am doomed to face this cold December aura-less…

I’m very disappointed in this response from Spotify. I have over 70k minutes listened and friends who have less than 30k were still able to get auras (unlike myself). If one of the big new features to wrapped was the auras, it should be available to all users. 

The whole point of wrapped is to compare and share with friends. If only some people can see a feature like auras and others can’t for whatever wonky coding reason that really defeats the purpose.

A lot of my friends with <30k listening minutes got audio aura on their Wrapped, meanwhile I have 36k minutes across almost 2k artists with premium. I'm very disappointed that it's a random chance to have my audio aura and I think it should be something every Spotify user with at least 10-15k listening minutes should be able to see their audio aura. Judging by the amount of people upset with this, I'd hope this issue doesn't happen in next year's Wrapped because that is really not a good look.
