No video display or controls on Chromecast

Google Chromecast 2nd generation, firmware version 1.40.156414.  Casting from Google Pixel 3 Android 9 (Pie), Spotify version 8.5.17.676

My Question or Issue

See attached video.  This has started within the last week.  Casting from my Android phone to Spotify on Chromecast plays the music but does not display any of the album cover art, music controls, etc.

Tried rebooting Chromecast, reset Chromecast to factory defaults, killing Spotify on Android, etc.  No difference.

Seems to have been magically resolved as of today (16 Aug 2019)
