Normal Quality is still too large to my liking

Solved!

Normal Quality is still too large to my liking

I have no idea what encoding method or bitrate Spotify is using, but considering I'm always low on storage and I only have 2GB of mobile data and imI always on the go (I know I can download offline but my phone memoer is on the low side), I wish there is a low quality button. I believe by using a more efficient codec, a smaller music file size can be achieved and it would save all of us a lot of data.

Hey @asoh99

Spotify uses Ogg Vorbis on all devices (except for the web player and Chromecast). 'Normal' quality on mobile is .ogg 96kbps.

Here's this article for more information.

I find it's a very useful feature for those with less bandwidth/capacity, so I suggest posting an idea on this in the Ideas section. 🙂

Have a nice day!
