Spotify touchbar controls on control strip

When you are listening to audio on the mac and the app isn't open it will then add a new control in the control strip which you can then skip songs, go back or pause/play but when i updated to macOS 10.13 for my macbook pro 15" a1707 kaby lake model 2017 it doesn't add the feature on the control stip all the time and i hope this is a bug that can be fixed as soon as possible, thanks for understanding

Would like to preface this by saying that I'd definitely like this feature back if possible, I use it so much!

But as a temporary solution, you can replace one of the controls you have in the control strip with a play/pause button which does get a bit confused if there is a video playing in Safari, where it'll pause or play both the video AND the spotify music but for now it will have to do.

I would agrere. I have noticed at boot, the spotify icon will be in the control strip, but that may be due to the fact that I have it set to start at boot. It does disapear during use. I am not sure if it is correlated to when I am playing music or not.

I am pretty sure this problem is due to the software update because it all worked perfectly fine until i updated my computer. Really hope this feature comes back because it was really usefull and saved quite some time. i used it all the time and now i have to open the full touchbar controls to be able to change songs.

Absolutely baffling, on my Mac Book ProTouchbar the Now Playing still appears when Spotify is turned on. It has been working since I had this MacBook Pro which came with 10.13.3 which I then upgraded to 10.13.4  However, I have another family member who purchased a MacBook Pro 2 months after me as been having issues from day 1 , where the Now Playing has completely stopped appearing on the Touchbar regardless if the Spotify or any other media is being played. This MacBook came with 10.13.4. 

Is this an issue with Spotify or is it an issue with Mac OS updates ?
